They do reduce the number needed though as it is a percentage. If enough of them vote against then it’s a pretty clear no confidence signal in her, whether they subsequently boot them or not.
All these MPs stood on a manifesto that said fracing would not happen under this government in 2019... They have a choice this evening don't they? Vote for it and not break the whip of a government that might not see the week out which would be political suicide or vote against and lose the whip meaning they may possibly bring down Truss and their own jobs. This lot have backed themselves so far into a corner they can't win...
Got to feel sorry for her,she never fulfilled her dream of seeing the first plane load of refugees to Rwanda.
Believe it or not Liz Truss didn’t even vote against the Labour motion tonight either, I’m not even making it up.
With a government majority of 71, this motion was passed with a majority of 96; who else voted it through?
The chaos that has unfolded tonight, watch the interview with Charles Walker on the BBC, it is absolute bedlam. I just don't see how even they can keep going on.
I doubt the DUP would have voted for labour, other assorted independent MPs, Sinn Fein who never take their seats…the majority is just the total number of Tory MPs minus everyone else, so it’s easy for them to vote down a Labour vote when they have 150 more MPs then labour do.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11332607/Suella-Braverman-QUITS-Home-Secretary.html It gets worse with the Daily Mail exclusive showing our deputy PM arguing in public with her colleagues. They don't even care enough to air their issues in private behind closed doors.
Sounds like there’s been some proper shenanigans going off in the Lobby’s with senior Tory MPs actually manhandling other MPs. What a shower we have for a govt. with Rees- Mogg typically playing it down, that lovely person is literally laughing all the way to the bank with this. Bet he can’t wait to start Blackmailing, bribing etc the local councils to get the consent required.
Would that be the same Daily mail that campaigned for Lizz Truss as PM. That only three weeks ago hailed the best Tory Budget in decades. That Daily mail. I don’t know how they have the brass neck as their campaigning is a significant contributor to where we are
