Tedic sort of looked promising at first, in a can't be any worse than what we've already got kind of way. But since then its looked more like a development favour to Man City. As for Vic, for me he just wasn't good enough for us, and he'd been here long enough to show us better than what he did. Regardless of whether hes a nice likeable bloke or not.
No, neither were, and neither are likely good enough to be a focal point upfront in a promotion pushing League One side. That was the point. Getting rid of Adeboyejo and Miller isn't the problem. Signing a good striker is.
Were not a promotion pushing league one side though. The problem we have is apart from cole or norwood we havent really got anyone upfront good enough for this level today we brought on a really good talent in jalo who is 16 but lets not rush him and ruin him. Victor would have been decent to have in the squad at this level and he is proving that at burton.
That information means absolutely nothing though. For all we know the club could have offered him minimum wage or £100,000 an hour
We were never going to sign anyone any better than him, that was the point. If we had a further striker in the squad - that had seven goals and an assist - we’d be in the top four. There’s a lot of assumption there, but still. Vic might not have been good enough in the championship, but he’s ready made for this ale house league and his work rate and effort would have carried this side. Imagine him running the channels chasing lost cause long balls, and challenging for headers. He’s the kind of player we are missing. No, he isnt great. But that’s exactly why we should have been able to keep him, recognising we had no better and could attract or afford no better. Put it this way, if he was here, and everyone fit, would he be in your first 11? He would be in mine.
Victor scored 9 goals in all his years with us. He's now already got that amount for Burton. He's struck up a good partnership with Keillor Dunn who I thought we should have signed on a free transfer, who has six goals himself.
Vic only got selected to start a league game on 19 occasions for us in all the time he was with us, he has started 13 already for Burton. Managers play a big part in a players career as we saw with Val giving him his opportunity. I thought there were times he deserved more starts and others when it was hard for him to get selected when we were doing well plus his year out on loan during his time with us. Looks like Burton have given him some confidence and he is repaying that, although sometimes its just down to team and player being the right fit. Good luck to the lad.
That was my point really when he was here he was here for 3/4 seasons having signed beginning of the stendel season and started only 19 times not many been consecutive starts in and out of the 11 and even the squad. Where as players last season who were no better and even worse would be starting every week.
