Not sure your point is valid when you use the Wednesday match as an example , we totally controlled that game & could have won more comfortably , watch a re run of the game again & it might alter your opinion .
Lincoln are no pushovers and the lad on loan from sunderland would walk in our team. Agree about the others but football is a team game and to win you alway have to score. Agree with the rest of what you say and there wont be any support for signings were very skint by the looks. We shot ourselves in the foot failing to use the loan market for a striker because were very short up top.
I wouldn’t, man 4 man on paper IMO there’s only Ipswich and Derby with a better squad in this league. We have some players who have proven they are more than capable at this level but for some reason at the minute are not showing it.
Wednesdays squads as good as any in this league. If you think we have the 3rd best side in the league i would strongly disagree.
I was surprised when I looked at the table to find that only 2 clubs have conceded less goals than us. Bolton and Derby, another 3 on equal 14 conceded. So 14 goals conceded in 15 games for the Reds. That tells me that defence isn't the problem, but much further up the field. We really need to get some overlapping speedy play into the tactics otherwise Cole and Norwood will be feeding off set piece free kicks and corners. And we'll get nowhere. Thomas was the biggest loss to us. Drive, energy, link-up, willingness to receive the ball, quick passing, quick to press, everything the midfield and attack fail to do. Long ball will not work with our frontmen, but I fail to see who could step up from the squad to fulfil that role. At the moment only Kitching does any bombing forward but he's watched Harry Maguire too much. Williams will get forward when he returns, but as for the pace in the rest of the squad, sadly lacking. Mr Duff, you know what to look for in the next transfer window. And it isn't a centre half!
Not saying we have third best, I’m saying on paper I only see two better and that ours is on par with most in the league. Edit Actually having had a quick look at SW and yes would agree there’s is up there too on paper.
I'd say with everyone fit we have one of the best starting 11 but that even then it is dangerously weak and unreliable up front. Once we lose one or two players we have an incredibly weak squad
Well as you are aware I am known for being extremely accurate with my assessment of football. Honest...
I would say Derby, Ipswich and Wednesday definitely are better and Plymouth have a very good squad at L1 level.
