    My Uncle Gary (Uttley), aka Shenk1, sadly passed away suddenly on Saturday.

    He didn't get to many barnsley matches but he really did enjoy having the craic with you lot on here.

    I'll post the details of the funeral when the arrangements have been made.

    Oh fck, no. He was my best local pal. Was just about to ring him today. Known the lad since we were 4 year olds. Poor Kim, she's all alone in a nursing home with advanced MS. :(

    My hearts just shrunk into my chest hearing this , it really is a shock when someone on here passes away suddenly you feel like you’ve known them for years sometimes without ever meeting them .
    Loved to read Shenks posts about going to Germany etc ,

    He was a really good lad. He had stopped going to Oakwell when his partner Kim became wheelchair bound with MS & BFC couldn't accommodate another disabled wheelchair fan. They liked going to Germany & on one trip fell in love with Fortuna Dusseldorf, who couldn't do enough for them when they were able to get to a match.
    Gary helped me out loads, after I got poorly with stroke, taking me shopping, to vets with dogs, even moving house last year. Salt of the fcking earth that lad, no mistake.. :(

    Thats really sad news. I didnt really know him, only through his postings on here. I know he was posting quite recently so it must be a terrible shock to his friends and family that he has gone so quickly - My sincere condolences to @Vegas-tyke and all that knew him RIP. Gary
