    Aussie net run rate getting a boost here. Looking difficult for us now but only ourselves to blame for the pathetic display against Ireland.

    Yes, Ireland made a decent fist of it in the end to stop the Aussies overhauling our run rate.
    If we win the last two it should be enough. Be a tall order though as NZ look very strong.

    It could quite easily finish with Aus, NZ and Eng all on 7 pts and Aus could quite easily gain a much better run rate by thrashing AFG.
    We could finish 3rd therefore.
    Have I missed summat or are you being super confident ?

    Our run rate is still superior to the Aussies, wins against NZ and Sri Lanka will improve that. Afghanistan are no push overs and we're capable of hammering Sri Lanka.

    Super confident? Nope, still think weather will be decisive.

    We are evens to qualify for semi’s so it’s a bit of the half full or half empty glass situation.
    I’m pessimistic especially with English cricket when they are world beaters one minute and then lose to Ireland !

    The modern day Taliban have encouraged the team to participate internationally.
    I thought Trott was their coach but he hasn’t been mentioned as far as I know in this World Cup

    Yeah the taliban are fine with cricket now, but only for men I believe. Afghanistan were meant to play Australia in a test match but Australia cancelled on them as they won’t play anyone that doesn’t have a women’s team, obviously they can’t refuse in a world cup.

    And yes Trott is their coach.

    Not long now … better performances needed from Buttler, Rashid and Stokes with the bat.
    If two out of three of our most experienced players turn up, then we’ll win.
    Strangely, we are favourites.

    We won the toss and bat first which is an unusual choice.
    As said earlier, Australia’s last game is against AFG and their star bowler Rashid Khan looks crocked … anyway let’s get NZ beat first
