you may think a bit harsh but they would get a gig at the recent Wentworth "1 hit wonder" festival along with that other crew folk bang on about stone roses
Fancied Scarborough but off to Headingley for the ashes test that day. Got Friday night at Sheffield instead
I haven't been there for years, but from memory most gigs there finished between 10 and 1030. As it's indoors and not in a residential area, I wouldn't have thought the curfew would be a big issue, although local councils are rarely known to operate along the lines of common sense.
Cheers, it's more about understanding transport post gig and where to stay. I went to their last gig at the arena though I can't remember what time it finished. I stayed in Sheffield but the queues for the tram were ridiculous. I'm thinking it might be better to stay in Barnsley and get the train back but it will be tight if it's an 11pm finish. Food for thought.
My first choice was Brid, only 3500 capacity, but we're likely to be out of the country that weekend (careless planning as I think it's the playoff final!)
Worst arena I’ve been to for location all other cities arenas seem to be in or around the centre and walking distance
Agreed but occasionally I make exceptions, I bought tickets for yo la tengo afterwards to make up for the arena nonsense.
I was sure that this would be some pretentious list that wouldn't have the hit singles anywhere near the top, but I was wrong. That's a very good list actually. For me, Disco 2000 is THE defining Pulp song though, so I'd put that on the top spot and drop Common People a few spots lower. I've heard the latter a bit too many times and it sounds too repetitive to me now. Still a classic song though, obviously.
