That’s another three match ban for McGeehan ! That’ll be 2032 when he’ll be able to play his next game . Hope the players are making a significant contribution from their wages , I know it’s all handbags and gladrags but with the EFL it’s any excuse if your not in the elite clubs such as Derby County etc .
It was called on the BBS that another fine would be heading our way and that's what it looks like. We are skint and yet still keep getting ourselves in to these situations.
Wouldn't put it past him ...so I wonder if Conway is getting a percentage of the fine for every brawl we get involved in....lol
Wrong call by the FA IMO. If referee had stepped in for the initial incident this wouldn't have happened. Certainly won't criticise the players for showing some team spirit and sticking together. We can't criticise players for not showing any passion etc then grumble if they have a little set to with the opposition. This incident came about through sour grapes from the Shrews players and that should be clearly pointed out to the shitshow that is the FA.
Referee had no chance, it escalated that quickly. If you want to lay the blame. Look no further than Collins. Who reacted stupidly even though the ref had blown for the foul. Why not let the ref then deal with the incident appropriately. No excuses from me. Incidents like this are pathetic. 4 times in the last 12 months or so. Brian Clough was the best at instilling discipline on the field.
I disagree to an extent. It was the 2nd time Dunkley had left a late challenge in on Collins, had the referee booked him when he should have the first time, it would have deterred Dunkley from trying it again late on. I'm not excusing the behaviour of Collins or others, but the referee could have helped the situation, just by being more consistent.
I get your point. But it still doesn't excuse it for me. That incident could have escalated into a situation where our fans could be excluded from away games the way quite a few reacted in the hoardings.
As I say, I'm not excusing Collins at all. He needed to show restraint. It's a moment where his time wasting tactics would probably have been welcome. I do think more consistent refereeing would have helped too though.
Agreed. Any fine should come out of the wages of those responsible and not the finances of the club. Our budget shouldn't ever be shrunk due to the actions of players.
I want them to show passion by putting effort in on the pitch and working hard at their job, not by not being able to control themselves. If a woman started crying in this situation people would say she’s hysterical/too emotional and need to grow up but if a man reacts by being aggressive then he’s showing ‘passion’. No, he’s not, he’s being too emotional and needs to grow up.
Was Kitching involved, its the only time I have seen any pace from him when there is confrontation to be had.
