Yorkshire Water, which has more than five million customers, suffered 130 litres of leakage per property every day in 2020-2021. And they blame the climate.

Not only in Yorkshire - Thames Water also still has a ban that is expected to last into 2023

Basically down to profit over service. Surely if water was harnessed properly and leaks fixed there’d be enough rainfall in the UK to avoid any droughts. Only areas I’d have thought susceptible would be the flat areas like Lincolnshire and Norfolk.
Shareholders and profit first, service and maintenance second.

If anyone didn't know if you have a blue badge parking (disabled parking badge) you are exempt from the hose pipe ban.

Anglian Water who predominantly cover Lincolnshire & Norfolk are one of few if not only water board not to have issued a hose pipe ban. They claim down to maintenance works.

A variety of reasons I would assume, due to physical and neurological disabilities. From Yorkshire Water website

Oh,, because it's easier to use a hose than a watering can. That makes sense, I was being a bit dense there!
