Decision time shortly (today) in the law courts on whether another referendum can take place.

Well there we have it. Uk is not a democracy but a right wing dictatorship.
Next GE will be fought on if you want independence vote SNP then the strength of the will of Scots will be determined.

Relax and enjoy free tuition and prescriptions and being able to have a say in Parliament. It's not all bad.

Huge win for the right wing. Everyone should be very concerned over their future.
    This is seriously bad.

It is a democracy because you (Salmond, Sturgeon, SNP) had what you called a once in a lifetime vote just a few years ago. I think our countries are stronger together than divided but another vote wouldn't have been a bad thing as I think it would be the same result as last time and so Sturgeon would have to quit and we would see less of her.

That is only your opinion. My opinion differs.
You have no facts to back up your claim.
I’m not particularly happy with the state of the UK at the moment and feel a complete break would be very advantageous to Scotland.

I feel it would be advantageous to England too.

Think it plays into the hands of the SNP who can now go into the next election on another anti Westminster ticket , if the Supreme Court had ruled in their favour they couldn’t really carry on the argument that Westminster democracy is broken , a loss then in a subsequent Independence vote severely dents the SNP

Scotland should go for their own good, the only reason I would want them to stay would be a selfish one: we need their left-leaning constituencies to prevent total right wing domination

I'm a bit of a thicko, but let me get this right. A country has been told it cannot have an independence vote, by the very people it is wanting to vote on independence from. Is that actually what's happened?
Were the EU allowed to rule on whether the UK could have a Brexit referendum? Just trying to work out the difference.

I genuinely feel for the people of Scotland who want independence from the UK. It must feel like a dictatorship.

It would be advantageous to England if Labour won all seats lost to SNP (not going to happen) I would like Scotland to be part of UK, but can you blame them for not wanting anymore of Tory fecking rule

since the last independence vote things have hugely changed. I think they should be allowed a new vote for independence. I just hope that if it does happen that relationship with the rest of the UK can be maintained.

If I recall correctly one of the key arguments was for Scotland to stay in the EU they had to remain in the UK
In the Brexit Referendum Scotland again voted by a large majority to stay in the EU

England decided that Scotland would leave the EU despite the 2 above referendums

Id argue that in a democracy enough has changed since then to let them have another vote - our right wing elected dictatorship elected by a minority of voters in the UK as a whole and a very small percentage of scots doesnt agree.

Ive no idea whether Scotland would vote for independence - personally I think they would be even worse off outside both the UK and the EU than they are now( maybe they could join in a few years but it would not be a simple process) but thats for the scottish people to decide

Can you imagine how the Tory right would have reacted if the EU had told us we couldn't have a referendum on leaving
but they get to tell Scotland they cant have one - double standards there IMO

Without Scotland we in England will be faced with perpetual Tory Government, so from a selfish point of view I'm glad the appeal was lost

Can’t say i’m surprised in the slightest by the ruling.

By the letter of the law it was the only possible outcome. I imagine Scotland will have a referendum anyway and if it’s a Yes vote they will try and use that as leverage to try and get Westminster to grant an official referendum.

Actually not true. Scotland have never been the difference between Labour rule or Tory rule.
