If a penalty is given for that (or even if the penalty is deserved), surely they need to re-take it for encroachment as a number of Portuguese players were in the box before the penalty was taken .... or did we scrap that rule?
Suarez is a cheat and it was a penalty. And their dyed blonde player pushed the ref in the back, and ronaldo claimed his teamates goal. I wish both teams would bugger off.
The one in the Ghana match, that was ridiculous indeed. Had it been any other player than Ronaldo who took the dive, it wouldn't have been a penalty. I think they got today's decision right though, unfortunately.
Absolutely a penalty, the player chose to leave his feet to make himself a bigger obstacle for the ball, his arm going down is part of that choice.
You're right, the penalty decision was right (in my opinion). I hate the penalty rule though. You say that it was a choice, but I think it was still accidental. It's always so disappointing when games are decided by stupid penalties like that, and that happens way too often.
But there was a goal the other day, I forget who sorry, it came off his arm and he assisted a goal. Would have been ruled out if he himself scored but because he passed instead it stood. I don't really get these rules. If that's a penalty tonight, shouldn't that other goal be ruled out?
Player throws himself to floor stopping balll going through for Fernandez shot on goal with his hand and people say no pen OMG
I thought todays was unlucky but it was a pen he stopped the ball going through with his arm and it was hard,y ball to hand. The Renaldo dive in the first game though absolutely not
This 100%, the player prevented Fernandez getting through on goal using his arm - accidental or not he was diving around - a penalty all day MHO. The fact Thug-life Souness said it wasn't a penalty only confirms even more it was.
