I watch the PSL so I am a big fan of the Tepal Tea Lounge. Who doesn't like a cuppa? Get one put in the western terrace. Do you have sensitive teeth? If you do I know just the product.
If it wasn't for the usual of slow over rate and bad light, they would get that that. Going at run a ball all day which they are on course for would be 540. Wickets in hand and they could get more.
Takes some doing six fours in a over. The 90 year old record for runs in a day is 588. The only thing that's going to stop it being broke is the light.
I appear to be in some sort of parrallel universe where Joe Root is the only England batter to NOT get a big score.
Joseph Edward Root really missed out on this road. The Barmy Army Twitter account has some good videos. They are being made to feel really welcome out there. It's good to see plenty of English have made the trip.
Sri Lanka hold the record for the highest test score getting 952-6 against India in 1997. When you've got a score like today and Livingstone batting at eight, we should go for test history tomorrow and declare on a thousand.
It's about winning the test match. You have to leave chance to bowl the opposition out twice. Records mean relatively little if you draw.
We will have them in well before the end of day 2 and have three full days to get twenty wickets. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series...s-england-1st-test-1330871/live-cricket-score Lots of stats there in the end of day write up. The best being it's the first time in history a team has scored 500+ on day one. Even more remarkable when the paying public have been robbed of 15 ovèrs.
Only 75 overs of good light today so it could be more like a 4 day match if it’s the same every day. I just can’t see our bowling attack getting 20 wickets especially if you take into account how Stokes and Robinson seem to be injury prone. If there’s a result, it will need some tempting declarations and it’s a proven 7 an over pitch
Great for the batting averages this series and get some confidence ahead of the Ashes. Series in Pakistan are decided by batting collapses.
It will have to be attritional. Bowl one side of the wicket - the Pakistan attack were leaking on both sides all day so it might have to be a case of hide it outside off and bore them out. Even then, it’s that flat they could walk across and whip it through square leg anyway; so maybe bowl middle and leg and pack the leg side? I suspect, though, with Stokes it will be all out attack - four or five slips, two gullies and a leg slip, let them get plenty of runs but make sure any chance is taken if it comes. Can’t be scared of bowling straight either as all four wickets to fall today were bowled or lbw. Either way it’s not what you’d call a good test pitch on current evidence, but as always you need to see both teams bat on it to be sure. It’ll be interesting to see what tomorrow brings.
