He was unplayable on this day, some great goals. Loved the header against Man Utd in 2009 (i think?). The little lob over the keeper against Arsenal too was absolutely exquisite
When Danny Murphy became a pundit , it was like a breath of fresh air. Recently retired, insightful, direct & honest. Now he’s just boring..
Commentators talking bout taking Messi off for next important game, but saying they wanna keep him on so he can break records... Not because they have to win this match, apparently it's already won...
Love or loathe either of them, I feel our generation have been extremely privileged to watch two players who have continually been at the top of their game for so long. I do wonder if either would have been quite as good as they were if they didn’t have the other to compete and compare with? Hard to define who the best player ever is as it is mostly subjective, but Messi and Ronaldo will be in most people’s top top five for a long time to come.
It gets on my nerves but tbf they wouldn’t have got out the groups without him. If ever there’s such a thing as a one man team at this World Cup it’s Argentina.
Rio used to be all Ronaldo as they were team mates but after Barca destroyed Man Utd in the champions league final & Messi ran riot he always praises him
Should have been 3-1 and an assist to Messi there. Shocking shot from Martinez, fair enough if keeper saved it but he's supposed to be an elite player. Really poor
My favourite player (outside of barnsley!) of all time. In his prime he was unplayable. The flair, tricks, goalscoring from far and wide, always smiling - infectious player, love him. Just grateful I got to witness him in the flesh!
I don't think so, Rio defended him didn't he? And Ronaldo thanked him for it, and then raged at Neville & Rooney for saying he was in the wrong
Given the pressure that USA and particularly Australia have put the Netherlands and Argentina under respectively it makes you wonder what we’re going to get tomorrow.
