Can they for once think about fans who have bought train tickets in advance? There is absolutely nothing to stop anybody who goes to Oxford for a 3pm kick-off watching the England game at 7pm. They may not be able to do so from the comfort of their own home/local but surely that is far less of a hardship than people being like me being unable to attend Oxford at all if the 3pm kick-off is moved?
AA route finder 2 hours 43 minutes. Oxford to Barnsley. It would need to be at latest 1 o’clock kick off.
they knew all these possible matches regarding England months ago. total disgrace moving kick off times days before. Fans have made arrangements hotels trains etc. If this was such a problem then all games should have just got called off like the prem/champ.
To be honest I've little sympathy for the many clubs who have spent tens of millions of pounds on players wages in recent years whilst completely neglecting the fan experience and refusing to invest in facilities. A football stadium is an arena and yet I bet there isn't a single one of them with a big screen up offering fans the ability to watch the England game after their match. It would be a gold mine if planned and marketed correctly. Proper food sold between the final whistle and the England match, lots of drink sold etc but none of them have invested in anything to be able to offer it. How many have PROPER bars where they can let fans in? Hardly any. If they lose money because fans don't turn up they've only really got themselves to blame
In this day and age I can't understand why every club doesn't have a heated upholstered bar area with Sky Sports, Racing TV and a pool table in every stand. Never mind every ground.
My point I that the infrastructure to do things like this should be there anyway. It should have been invested in.
