I’ve never got the idea that if you earn more you should pay more . What does that teach young aspirational kids ? It seems to me, this socialist drivel is only a outlet for middle aged angry men who seem to have an agenda against anyone better than them . You certainly do not reach out to the average working class teenager that’s for sure Seems to be just lapped up by middle class young adults who are trying to find a cause to upset mummy and daddy .

You still take home more money when you earn more no matter how much you make. You just take home less as an overall percentage.

Communism keeps the rich, rich and the poor, poor. It's an ideal, nothing more. Socialism is the same. We can all champion the rights of the working man over our breakfast or internet forum. However, I'd like a penny for their thoughts when it's their train that's cancelled.

Say you're a couple and one earns 100k and the other earns 20k... you have the mortgage and bills to pay so do you both pay the same in to cover the bills or do you pay a percentage of your respective salaries to cover?

I know what the common sense/ fair answer to that is!!!

Guarantee he thinks women should just be obedient homemakers so your question doesn't even enter into his thinking.

There you go again old boy . You can’t help it can you . It’s people like you that hold children back , not me pal . Stuffing options like that down their throats . I have a female apprentice and shes great . I pay her well over the going rate for her age . More than double in fact . Do you think it’s good that kids should be taught to hate Tory’s and everything they believe in ? That is really going to help them in their future is it not . Your just an angry middle aged man

    Let’s turn that one around.

Do you think that you deserve lower taxes for working whilst others were involuntarily kept at home?

I worked through by the way. And I don’t feel the right to a lower tax rate because of that fact.

If one flat rate for tax would work the tories would have adopted it years ago.

If everyone fairly stuck to the tax bands and paid what they really owed, rather than dodge it, they could knock 3% off each band and have the first £30k tax free.

Socialism is not the same as Communism, no wonder you’re stuck in the past along with other hard of thinking

I consider myself to be left wing; I agree with you whole heartedly that everyone should pay the same level of tax. But that's every one above a suitable Universal Basic Income: no exceptions, no tax dodging or tax avoidance schemes. Fair tax for a fairer society.

You are a Tory's dream. Quite surprised you work for the NHS to be honest.

I’m not quite middle aged, though I’m in my late thirties - so not far off - but I do have an agenda with jumped up cretins with right wing tendencies who view themselves as ‘better’ than me or anyone else.

There’s the issue in a nutshell. Looking down on people like you are some kind of superior. It is not unique to you amongst your political persuasion.

Even if you claim this to just be a clumsy choice of words, it perfectly highlights what annoys people.

I have worked hard to get experience and a better wage. A proportion of my income is taxed at the higher rate. I don’t begrudge that.

I do complain though that my tax money is not efficiently and fairly distributed to the right places and public services - rather than being used to pay their cronies contracts they won’t fulfill for ppe, or to prop up poor sods who work hard and full time but still can’t afford to live. Public money used to back-handedly support big businesses who won’t pay a living wage to their staff who clean, pick or deliver orders, empty bins, care for our elderly and infirm or do whatever vital work they have. The same staff you want taxed at the same rates as you and me are sitting in freezing damp houses with kids dying of a sore throat, until it’s time to go and queue at the food bank.

Do not equate those on benefits with those who choose not to work. A massive proportion of universal credit is sent to working families who don’t get paid enough to meet basic costs.

I’ve never felt or seen myself better than anyone else pal . I’m an better than others for having the balls and endeavour to improve myself and my family . Regarding your tax money , it does not matter who holds the red briefcase, it will be wasted . Again, I have friends who do those jobs and I know none of them are suffering like you say . I’m not saying your wrong but I think a little stretching of the true scale is happening . Anyhow I’ve had enough today, I’ve left the apprentice shovelling **** long enough without a tea break. She’s not stopped some 8am bless her
