Best test win in our history and I’m not taking any objections.

You might not, but there's at least 10 better without thinking IMO.

    Great win though.

@DannyWilsonLovechild Ben stokes is one special cricketer.

World class all rounder and now a pretty special captain

None immediately spring to my mind. They won a match that was virtually impossible to win given the conditions.

Headingley 81 and Oval 68 for starters.

Not taking away from this victory mind - a superb performance from start to finish.

    Headingley 2001 wasn't bad either.

Headingley 2019 and 1981 are still the top two for me. This would be number 3 in my list so the best ever away win.

A pitch playing like a road, missing players (Bairstow, Foakes to name two), Stokes can barely bowl, Pope behind the stumps, Jacks making his debut, Jimmy being 40, loads of overs missed every day due to slow over rate and Livingstone playing with a limp. All off the back of a possible delayed start due to illness running through the camp.

    I see Robinson won MOM.
It should be a 3 way tie with Brook and Jacks.
Also, the captaincy of Stokes should make it a 4 way tie etc etc etc

Both before my time to be honest, but from the ample coverage I’d seen, I’d put the 81 game down as a great comeback rather than overall test win. Same with the 2019 game. I’d put this win as the better overall win though. To win such a high scoring game on such a flat pitch is something nobody else in the world would be able to do at the moment, simply because they wouldn’t even try.

Couldn’t tell you a thing about the 68 test, so will take your word on that one. But this is the best win I can think of in my lifetime

but that one was handed to us by a generous declaration. Would’ve been a more comparable game if Pakistan had chased the total down.

The Ashes innings win in Australia about 11 years ago is in top ten

There may be start delays in Multan for 2nd Test on Friday.

Fog could be the reason so it could mean even less overs a day assuming it gets dark there at similar time as first Test

Tbh I don't understand the timings. Surely they would have assessed dusk/sundown to be an issue. Losing double figures in overs throughout the test. It's not as if it's cloud cover causing problems.
Start earlier to eliminate the risk. And give the punters their monies worth.

It’s not rocket science is it ?
I’m sure the starting time in Sri Lankan tests have been 9.30 so why not in Pakistan ?

If the fog is there at 10 am it's probably going to be there at half past nine. The only way really would be to have floodlights to switch on when it gets dark and stay out there for however long ninety overs take.

Lovely to see Aussies taking note of Bazball. The next few years are going to be fun to see how it gets on home and away especially against Australia and India.

Bazball is just playing cricket how it should be played and winning. The Aussies have been doing it for years and the West Indies before them.

It's like Gegenpressing. That's just German for run bloody hard and get stuck in.

It's amazing what growing a set of Bo ll ocks can do to any side in any sport.
