I used to have 2 posters on ignore, one an immature wum who tbf, may have had issues apparently. The other a wum who just thought it funny to post racist stuff all the time.
They're not here anymore.
Which does make it easier to read the board. Whenever someone who was blocked posted something those threads just became more difficult to read as.....well, what was everyone responding to?
Add to that, u will still see many of their posts as when someone else quotes them, their post shows.
Add to that, the temptation to press "show ignored content"........are u strong enough?.....I really felt like adding "Punk" to that in a Dirty Harry style for some reason .
If you're gonna be actively outspoken with political views that are by and large in the minority, then a thicker skin is needed, or stay away from the political stuff, for your own well being.

Perhaps I'm fortunate in that I've never felt the need to be loved by everyone. Respected by those I respect and loved my the few I love, but let's not over do it. I dont really care how a bunch of folk I dont know on the internet feel about me, you're all just (mainly) colourful characters behind a keyboard who it's (usually) amusing to interact with. I try to avoid confrontation here as, well its not that important really is it.
Personally, I feel the majority (bar a couple, maybe) of those posters on your list are some of the best on the board and you're missing out if they are on ignore, but it's your prerogative.
I don't think anyone has set out to abuse u, and remember the written word usually loses something compared to being sat opposite someone.

Reminds me of a story my decorator pal told me.

You're right but by replying to their posts I felt myself becoming more and more like Young Nudger. Some of the posts were just petty point scoring on my part. I even cringed afterwards. However, I'd dug myself into a hole so far it was easier just to bail out and ignore.
