    Musically, the best band I ever saw live …about 1978 I think.

    This wasn't a surprise. Jet was much older than the rest of the band - he was 84 and 10-15 years older than Hugh Cornwall and JJ - and wasn't in the best of health. But still its a sad day. Only saw them once with the original line-up in 1990 or so - so not long before Cornwall left, but it was a good night. RIP

    Jerry Allison, the drummer from Buddy Holly and the Crickets, died earlier this year. He was younger than Jet Black!
