No, probably have shut the f**k up moaning and finished the game off. Shilton out jumped by a midget, Beckham and Rooney retaliating, Saka going down like a sack of ****.... should have been stronger but then Bellinghams defending was shocking.
We said the same thing, don’t mess with a good penalty. You practice a good penalty , time and again, if it’s good a keeper won’t stop it even if ithey go the right way.
Have a look at Lineker’s penalty when he had the pressure of knowing it would equal Bobby Charlton’s record of 49 England goals
Taking a step back it was a gift of a penalty where the French defender panicked and unnecessarily bundled Mount over. Kane didn't capitalise but there was still time to make amends. That wasn't the moment England lost. It was just one bonus opportunity to equalise, not taken. Perhaps the England bench were banking on Grealish getting a hattrick in his sixty second cameo appearance.
That was just pure pressure though not taking two penalties in one game, which is what I was commenting on.
I did read yesterday - and it may just be bobbins - that Kane is meticulous in practicing penalties before games. With 2-3 days to go he will pick one part of the goal, then take a lot to practice hitting them all in that spot. So before this game, he practiced top left and the first one went in. For the second one, he'd also normally go top left but Lloris was his team mate for years - so knew Kane's routine. And Kane knew that Lloris knew Kane's routine and would expect the second penalty in the same spot - making it harder for him to score. So he changed his routine and fluffed it. Apparently Kane's record with the second penalty is much worse than his first - and worse than a lot of players with similar stats for the first.
