Love wiki …. First Eng v Pak test ever was 1954 and they scored 87 off 84 overs in first innings ! Match was rain affected at Lords and ended in a draw. Scoring rates have changed somewhat
Terrific win that. It looked towards the end that they might steal the victory with a load of boundaries piling up but our bowlers finished them off anyway. Nice to leave it late and make it exciting
Shame we have to wait until Saturday. Have to make do with Lanka Premier League on Viaplay and then Big Bash starts on Wednesday morning our time for breakfast Cricket through Christmas. If you are unsure if you want to watch it have a word with @Stephen Dawson as he will tell you how good a big bash is.
https://wisden.com/stories/global-t...t-all-overseas-players-picked-for-bbl-2022-23 Not from the original list but last week Lyth got named for Perth Scorchers to replace Laurie Evans whilst he tries to clear his name. Big expectation playing for the defending champions, as the only way is down. Perth were incredible last season. Started with their one and only home game because covid restrictions meant once they left for their first away game they couldn't go back. To win it when all but one game was away was amazing. They deserve some big crowds at their fantastic and huge stadium.
One player will do although I thought Du Plessis had replaced Evans I wondered if Jordan Thompson applied
Out of all the players that could make way for Bairstow he's the one. I wasn't too impressed with him. Looks another Dan Lawrence.
Looks like Bairstow may have to take another role in the team, either opening the batting or keeping wicket again, to get into the team. Either that or end up in some sort of all format job share with brook, to keep their schedules manageable.
Certainly one of those, was it, wasn't it. Tend to agree with Mark Butcher. The finger is definitely under the ball. (Steady Stephen ) which is possibly meaning it isn't touching the ground.
