Looking at the weather forecast maybe a wise decision? Better than leaving it to the day of the match if it looks a fait accompli. I suspect the WC final also being on may have influenced things too.
Why ? Surely they have under soil heating ,speaking of which I presume ours must be on otherwise our game tomorrow would already be off ,
The game was scheduled to kick off at 11.30. They must not have undersoil heating and no way would a well frozen pitch thaw at the dizzy heights of 1oC
No they don't have undersoil heating. I think that may be the case with preston as well stiil. May be other championship clubs also, not checked em all. Someone said if we'd been in championship last week. The match wouldn't have been called off. Luton happened to be away.

You would have thought that in this day & age where the championship has to provide all seater stadia that under soil heating would have been a league condition , but there we have it
Luton have been a bit of a yo yo club. And been planning on moving for years. So probably not considered investing. And Tbh running costs at present for clubs with small/medium gates may outweigh costs of postponement.
Luton have had covers on the pitch for the last few days to prevent freezing but when they've removed snow from on top of the covers and peeled them back they've found the ground beneath frozen solid.
Probably you are right although they did reach the play offs last season to get to the premier & if they are serious about kicking on they will not welcome postponements
They're building a new stadium. It's took 10 years so far but they've finally started some physical work moving a sub station out of the way.
