There aren’t that many foreigners that would take the job that are better than Southgate Much as I would love Klopp or Pep, any of us saying they would take the England job is as daft as some of the Fowls suggestions to replace the “failure” that is Darren Moore
Personally I wouldnt I dont think, Tuchel or Pocc. Although Tuchel does seem a good knock out coach. I think Tuchel would clash with some of the players and media. I wouldnt be opposed to either of them though Helen. But if Southgate sticks with 4 at back for next Euros and tries to play expansive football like we did this world cup, id probably stick with him. Just don't revert back to crappy 3 at back tepid football
I agree. He's done more than enough so far and I don't think he's reached the pinnacle yet. Our team will only improve.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64018268 Do we realistically belive Southgate can win a major trophy? If he doesn't deliver the European Championship title in 2024 then IMO he would need moving on so we can go in a different direction.
I agree in terms of squad cohesion and playing for one another but less than 17% win rate against fifa top 10 ranked teams is nothing short of abysmal imo Helen considering squad we've got. As I said though as long as he doesn't revert back to negative Nelly with 3 at back I'm fine with it for 1 more tournament
No one else in contention for the job just yet imo so Southgate gets to keep it for the time being . In his favour he does give youth a chance and wouldn’t be over cautious or loyal with the older guard that past managers have relied on such as Hodgson or Allerdyce if he’d have avoided his greed . No more Non English managers for me as imo I think we need someone who's aware of the talent and the potential that’s coming through . Maybe Howe or Potter in a couple of years and maybe Lampard or Gerard although I think they’d be prone to favouring the old guard rather than gamble on the youth which Southgate has done in a way but tried to shackle them and not used their raw flair . This imo has cost us as he should have used such as Shaw and Henderson to cover for them instead of using them as the main thrust of our team .
The right call. Think he will leave after the Euros whatever the outcome, he's earned one last run at it.
Fine if he listens and learns..most belive that bringing on Sterling ( out of form) and Mount ( Poor start to competition) in the France game were the wrong decisions. also Grealish when it's too late to influence the game was a poor choice.Probably the best squad for some time so need to get the best out of em.
Good. Gareth’s the man. We compete for trophies at each tournament. Halcyon days as an Englishman. Beats getting battered by the Germans, failing to get out of groups or not even qualifying. I fancy us to win the Euros in Berlin.
