    Just that..retired today after 50 years of working life...started at 8.30am on 18th September 1972....will be strange but in some ways exciting.

    The money that pops into your bank account from the govt every 4 weeks is heavenly.
    My official retirement was last March but I'm still working. Self employment is fine but one day I'll pack it in. Don't know when.

    I retired 2nd July 6 months early after 40 years on post plus jobs before that, i absolutely love it and never bored. Don't know how i had time to work lol.

    enjoy your retirement, im calling it a day in september after 41 years in various jobs, well only had 6 jobs since leaving school, ill still work part time but time to wind down less hours more free time
