Double time for the coppers I bet . It sickens me when I see the amount of police on duty on games like this . Then they have the audacity to whinge about staffing.

It's alright coming on here moaning just cos a few reds fans can't get to the match but spare a thought for the 17 million piggies who have already booked the entire worlds transport systems to get them to the game on the Saturday

Well I'm delighted with the move because I'm rota'd to work that Saturday and can't change it so I wouldn't have been able to attend now it's on the Sunday (Cup result dependant) I can go. Yippee. In all seriousness though it is about time the club and or the council told SYP where to go our matches seem to be moved around much more than the other clubs in South Yorkshire.

That's very disappointing; not from SYP - I expect incompetence of the highest order, and they never fail to disappoint - but from the Club. That explanation is just mealy mouthed waffle. Let's hope we progress in the Cup and get this postponed.

Is it beyond the bounds of possibility for BFC and SYP to meet just once, as soon as fixtures are announced, and determine which ones need to move? Rather than an unhelpful piecemeal approach.

As I’m having an operation a few days earlier, I’d be quite happy if they put it back a fortnight (and extremely unhappy if we beat Derby and get a plum 4th Round tie!)

Any number of reasons I guess. Perhaps SYP have suddenly raised the issue. I don't know how far ahead they do policing costs ect. Just I remember someone on here spoke to someone on the police force at the time and that was the nuts and bolts of it. I've never heard anything different since then so I assume it's still the case.
The club are probably happy for the fans to blame the plod (who probably deserve a share of the blame) but ultimately have to agree to the move. This is likely influenced by financial implications.

I mean, when we beat Derby in the cup it'll get moved again anyway ;)

4th round weekend as well - might not be happening at all if one of us go through

I do think the best result for SYP, our club, and the transport situation is for it to be a Tuesday 745 kick off.

And if Wendies advance in their cup game it will be off.

Not really surprised at it being moved but why the Sunday? Why not Saturday dinner time?

Hopefully we’ll get through in the cup anyway.

It's about time the club were honest with these statements and actually say whether they were told they HAD to change the day or that they CHOSE to change the day in order to take advantage f cheaper police costs.

I think if it was forged upon them they’d say in the statement.

I’d be shocked if it wasn’t changed for cheaper policing. Really frustrating.

Can't SYP arrange for us to play on a Saturday and a Sunday, same weekend?

Surprised you weren’t posting yesterday when we didn’t win a game.

Sorry I was too busy enjoying Christmas with family to care about us only getting a point away from home. Happy stalking
