.I think we'll be looking to replace Anderson, hope not. but i'm in for a new Striker, everywhere else looks to be covered.
Football: Wellington Phoenix striker Ben Waine signs with English club Plymouth Argyle - NZ Herald Another one we've had an interest in reportedly. About the fifth or sixth striker Plymouth have now!
Yes but at least this time we’re looking to get bugger all business done early rather than in the last 5 mins of the window
The ‘we’re not in any rush to make signings’ comment rings alarm bells to me. Honestly thought we’d be busting a gut to bring a striker in as early as possible and give Duff the options he deserves. Won’t be a surprise if it all goes down to the last day yet again. Hopefully not…..we’ll see.
That's just Manager Speak to me. If Duff broadcasts to everyone that were desperate, then the price on everything goes up. I'm confident he knows.
Plymouth getting their business done early - it can be done! Stevenage boss Steve Evans confirms Norwich City to recall Saxon Earley to be sold 'for a lot of money to top end League One club' | Local Sport | News | Hitchin Nub News
A club on the up Plymouth. Seem well backed financially and also getting big gates too. Always thought they never achieve their potential given the fact there are so few clubs around them.
That's not how I interpreted it at all. More like that we're only going to sign people who actually improve the squad, and we're not going to be held to ransom.
I'm never massively hopeful in January. notoriously hard to bring players in. no point just bringing numbers in. they have to add quality. how many strikers are out there, that are a) available, b) within budget, c) better than what we already have and d) not being courted by someone 'bigger' than us? I can't imagine at all, that we'll bring a 'proven' striker in. probably looking at lower/non-league or champ loan
