They close roads all over the centre at a whim but do nothing about Oakwell Lane which needs to be closed to vehicles every matchday.

That's been needed since I started going in the 50's and in those days for every vehicle on the road then there will probably be 50 vehicles these days

Well they've tried their best to deter folk but I reckon some supporters will still get to the ground.

Except the roads aren’t closed until half time so getting there isn’t the problem. It’s getting home that’s difficult. Especiallly if Pontefract Road is closed at Harborough hill

Can’t make it today so stuck with iFollow

I'm sure the following paragraph isn't new and has been published prior to all home games during Operation Isolate Oakwell but it's the first time I've read it.

"The bridge closes for an hour before kick-off, during the match and an hour after each home game until further notice to support the fans attending the match and other members of the public.”

To support us? Be interested to hear how the author believes that to be true, even taking the definition of support as intended. But if someone had built a bridge that could support us before closing the crossing then none of this would be an issue. Only bridge in the world that closes during the only period that anyone wants to use it. For the other 340 days of the year it's pretty much superfluous as the few people making that journey on foot can cross through the interchange.

But weird that they aren't closing grove Street at all today. That will be fun after the match when cars try coming up it to pick people up

The road closures and bridge closure only serve to make it FAR more dangerous imo

The road down the side of the Alhambra isn't suitable for high volumes if pedestrians and high volumes of cars yet by closing the bridge, the interchange AND the exit slips on harbrough hill that's exactly the situation they're forcing and it's bonkers.

Theyve got away without a death so far but there's only so long they can take the risks before it happens

Apart from midweek against Fleetwood when someone forgot to close it, as it was open immediately after the game and everyone used it safely and without incident.

The road closures are a load of bollards.

Seriously. If you're setting off in a car to come to Oakwell don't bother. You won't get here on time because the club can't run a none alcoholic piss up in an athletic brewery.

We aren't fit to host football matches I'm afraid. What a joke

I think they're starting to leave it open when playing against teams that only bring a small following, against teams bringing more fans such as Bolton, Wednesday, derby etc expect it to be closed.
I don't think there's another club in the land that make it so difficult for their fans to get home.
