awful decision. 1. You can’t see it from the video but their man pulls Anderson a little to get an advantage 2. he then very clearly dives. There is no foul on him 3. Kitching is covering and general position of player to goal means it can’t be deemed as denial of a gs opportunity We have been on the receiving end of crap like this for 3 matches in a row now.
I've been of the opinion all day that Mads was being fouled by their player, who then threw himself to ground. That video confirms I saw it wrong. Clear penalty. He's not made any attempt to play the ball either which is why he's been given the red card, and I can sort of see that too.
Christ…..on viewing that it’s a dodgy pen to say the least. The straight red is just laughable. How do we manage to be on the end of so many bad decisions like that?
It's a clear dive but Mads hasn't helped himself by a. Letting him get goal side and b. Having his arms allover him. But, it's the sort of decision we've come to expect to be awarded against us with nothing doing if its up the other end. Doesn't matter the division, it never balances out, as evidenced by the fact we've not had a penalty awarded in the league this season despite sitting in the top 6.
Looks the correct decision to me. Mads just gets turned by their bloke who then cleverly places his body between Mads and the ball. If you pause the video about halfway in, Kitching is miles behind. It only appears he's covering by the end of it. Hate to say it, but there's not an awful lot wrong with the decision.
Watch it again Mads clearly not trying to foul him. As said above misses out the initial foul on Mads. And Kitchen is a covering defender. I can see why the ref gave the pen though the more I see it the more it looks a dive. But the red is very harsh Another “controversial” game changing decision in the box not in our favour that’s 5 in 3 games
Without a doubt a penalty. Got around Mads who had his hands all over him. We'd have wanted a penalty for that. Not a red card though because he wasn't last man with Kitching covering. It's disappointing we keep giving away penalties because as highly as I rate Collins he never looks like saving one. I never have confidence he's going to keep it out.
Ref was clearly influenced by the one minutes before - thought Kitching was all over their forward, who still got his shot away.
What really annoys me is the fact that the game was effectively over by 11 minutes in. I’m a season ticket holder but if I’d paid on the day I’d be livid. We see soft penalties given all the time (although not to us), but to then compound it by sending the player off is ridiculous. No doubt the referee will claim he was simply applying to rules. Let’s not worry about short-changing paying customers though eh?
Wow, what an absolutely horrendous decision. Personally, I thought Fleetwood's was a pen, but that was just ludicrous.
At the game I thought their player fouled Mads beforehand but on that viewing, maybe not. I do still think that the tussling starts outside the box but their player makes sure he goes to ground in the box. Regarding the red card, did I dream it or didn’t they decide on the “double jeopardy” rule? Surely that’s in play here? It totally spoilt the game that decision.
The double jeopardy rule applies when an attempt to play the ball fails. If there is no attempt to play the ball and purely an attempt to foul the player like the rugby tackle on Cole at Altringham the red still applies. Difficult one here if the ref decides Anderson deliberately fouled Him and there is no covering defender. Both arguable a red applies.
Double jeopardy only applies if a genuine attempt made to play the ball - any pulling etc is a red card
