Only if they are, indeed, racist?

 

Only because the way the world has changed and people of a certain age don't know what they can say and what they can't. Racist or not

 

Very easy these days to just call people racist because they don't agree with woke. Whatever that is.

You need to read what free speech means, old boy, as well as fundamentally what makes something that someone says racist. It’s pretty easily definable, along with woke.

For what it’s worth, woke isn’t a bad thing, it’s quite the opposite.

Is it necessary to allow such racist filth on here? Rather than get into protracted arguments about it, wouldn't it be better to just delete the racist posts and delete the accounts of those that post them?

it was only 1991 that marital rape became illegal in practice (2003 until it was explicitly made illegal), something that I would hope everybody agrees is a good thing.
It was only 1995 that widespread discrimination against disabled people became illegal.
It wasn't until 2000 that the official Human Rights Act was enshrined in law.


All things that would be considered 'woke' at the time...

I drew Admin's attention to this last night but sadly no action has been taken. There is one (early) post on here that is very likely defamatory and another that is certainly racist in content. These cowards drip their bile and then dance around words to try and mask the meaning of what they are saying. It demeans this forum, but not the very many decent-minded posters who are happily still in the majority.

 

What was better 40 years ago? I gave you 3 examples of things that I consider to be extremely important advances in that timeframe. I can give you hundreds more.

So what was better then, which are more important than those important advances?

 

Agreed. I try hard not to respond to racists as it only fuels their hateful bile. I can't criticise @Gally and other admin members as they give up their time to make this forum work, but I do wish that together we could somehow think of a way to get the racists off here.
