That’s the problem for me Duff winds them up, they go at it, quite often squander three or four chances and it’s like they think , here we go again
Benson was on the bench against Bolton, when he started last time. Wolfe came on for Phillips at half time at Accrington, Aitchison could have come on. He started the game against Burton, Aitchison was on the bench.
Yea .....also our inability for some players to be competent at a five yard pass....or deal with danger In the final third ...instead of giving ourselves even more danger. Let's not forget we have been on a decent run though ....and now it looks like some of our frailties are showing.
I think you’re probably right. But comments claiming this is the worst squad in X number of years or saying we’ll drop down the league like a stone are OTT still I’d say. As you’ve said, it’ll be interesting to see what Duff makes of it. Let’s hope Watters can hit the ground running and give us something different up top.
These are the inconsistencies that I thought would be apparent this season, although I did think we would be more mid- table than play- off place at this stage. However, capitulation in games like today still make the blood boil
Totally agree...I thought/think Duff has a massive job on...and looked at a mid to lower table finish. our squad is still better than about 65% of teams in this league but we are top 6 and we now expect better...we tend to get let down a bit. We have a great coach and it may take time to get us as a real force.
1Walton 10Benson 14Martin 15Moon 18Ackroyd 26Larkeche 29Jalo That was our bench v bolton no words needed.
Not against criticism Marc, just the level of vitriol on "social media" is appalling when all we've done is lost a game of football. Not singling out this forum in particular. Its the same on all platforms. We've lost games hundreds of times but the modern digital world revel in abuse of players, staff, club, catering, car parking, ticket allocation, chairman, CEO, chicken flatbreads, the board, the council, Nudger's Bridge, individual players (who have got us into a playoff place despite a paper thin squad) and other members of the BBS Walking home from Oakwell in the 70's after yet another defeat in front of 2,500, I used to think, Les Lea should have scored, Kenny Brown was rubbish etc. By the time I got home the disappointment had faded and I was eagerly looking forward to the next one. I think it's time I stopped reading and contributing to this forum unless we have won 6-0 No genuinely it's not a flounce either. I don't flounce, I haven't got the legs or the pout for it. I just come from a different era.
fair dos. it's a passionate game. tbf though, in the 70s, while people didn't take to social media, they did have open warfare on the terraces and in the streets, win lose or draw. I'm glad the vitriol today is limited mostly to words on a screen, rather than blood in the stands. I generally agree with you though, some people do take it too far.
We have to. Very strict 8 minute slot for the world feed. Full rehearsal with guests in a few minutes
