Not really bothered who wins but if the rules say that first United goal isn’t offside then the rules need changing. How can you make a run straight through the middle, take defenders with you and influence the keeper to come out to you, and not be interfering with play just because you don’t touch the ball? I’m not saying VAR or the officials got it wrong; that is apparently the rule. But it can’t be right, surely?
I agree. As Danny Blanchflower remarked, "If a player isn't interfering with play, he has no business being on the pitch".
Just having that discussion here too. Ridiculous decision. Of course he was interfering with play!! Continued his run, taking defenders with him as he did so. Pep will be rightly fuming.
Apparently the rules were amended, no longer includes the vague phrase " interfering with play", it's more specific, says summat about touching the ball/tackling player I think, Rashford did neither.
Thought this was gonna be about the very loud singing asking someone to show part of the female anatomy in the first half.
Its man united what do you expect. If i say what i say about man u and everyone of their so called fans or players i would be banned.
For me it was a good goal, what the foook does Var know, and who the fook is Var, is and always will be bent.
What happens if a player is stood right in front of the goalie though, obscuring their view? No way that hypothetical goal would be allowed to stand.
But when the keeper positions himself initially for a shot from Rashford how is he not influencing the play , ludicrous
I've given up trying. Once upon a time, you could explain the offside rule with the help of a salt pot, a pepper pot, a vinegar bottle, and a couple of bits of cutlery. Now you need a laptop, a slide rule, a slow-motion camera, and an artificial intelligence program. And even then, you're probably going to fail...
