Thought he ‘d done well there. However, unsurprisingly 1 win in 11 has taken its toll. Wonder who’ve they’ve got in mind now?
I think they spoke to him, but not sure they got to a point of wanting to appoint him. I'd be surprised if they went in for him now. As someone else said, Leam Richardson would seem like a good bet.
I think they'll get Duff if they come in for him. He'd fancy keeping them up. Good career move. He's more chance of keeping Blackpool up than taking Barnsley up.
Would be at odds with what he’s done previously in his career. Hasn’t he only ever been at two clubs, either as a player or coach, before we got him?
How long is Duff's contract? They'd need to pay for him if they wanted him. Even with our apparent track record, I don't think Blackpool are particularly flush. Then there's whether Duff would want to go, which I can't see, given his history to sticking to one club for a long time, particularly when he's only been here 6 months.
Getting a club out of league one is as big an achievement as keeping one in there when you are talking about the likes of us and Blackpool - if he was offered the job and took it, it probably would say a lot about which one he thought was more achievable. I would like to think his next move would be more ambitious then Blackpool, but you never know,
Football management is a long career if you make the right career decisions. I suspect he'll be looking further than next season.
I thought he spoke to them in the summer and decided it wasn't for him same as Liam rosinier did after been rejected twice Blackpool went for Appleton.
Good team for both teams to score bets are Blackpool. Hope this doesn't spoil things. The Appleton doesn't fall far from the tree.
Duff would be wise to read Danny Wilson's book. A lot of jobs he took he never got the backing he was promised. Admittedly Duff is working on a shoestring, but I think he knows most of the Barnsley fans do realise the state we are in & have reasonably low expectations this season. I for one think promotion would be a disaster this season, but to get to the playoffs would give us a bit of extra revenue, some excitement & some impetus for next year. I'm not sure he'd get the same time at Blackpool. If they went down he could be back at a far smaller L1 or L2 side with a relegation against his name.
I don't. He's not the type to spend two minutes somewhere and his project is going well with us despite recent setbacks.
