Accrington were on the ropes, why didn't we continue in the same vein and destroy them to improve our goal difference? A ruthless team would have.
We're a league one team. Man City are a ruthless team. Real Madrid are a ruthless team. We're a league one team who've struggled to score all season after losing 3 in a row conceded 8 goals. I don't get this mentality. Do you think our lads missed chances on purpose? Misplaced passes on purpose? We were professional the second half after being brilliant and finishing the game off in the first half
We needed to win. We are 5 points clear of a poor chasing pack. Points were everything today & a comfortable win.
I didn't go. Was travelling back from London. I think it's a brilliant result with three brilliant goals. We've had a couple of really difficult matches under very tough circumstances. Back to the bread and butter stuff and we give the opposition what for with a bit of style. I don't think we're good enough to go up, but the team are doing their damnedest to prove me wrong.
I can kinda understand some of the comments. After 20 minutes, people were probably expecting a cricket score, but it didn’t pan out that way. Actually, it was over as a contest after 20 minutes, and the next 70 were a bit of a non-event. The weather was freezing and the atmosphere was weirdly rubbish. Taking the result aside, the second half was pretty dire to watch, I thought. That aside, brilliant to get three points and first 20 minutes were cracking.
Although we won in the first 20 minutes the whole of the second half was boring with time wasting and shithousery. We were playing Accrington, one of the worst teams in the league. I know we're not Man City but I'd expect us to score at least one goal in the last 70 minutes against the worst team I've seen this season. Call it game management if you like but I can understand why some fans wanted to be entertained once the game was won in that first 20 minutes.
I'd certainly have taken the result if offered it before the game. Nevertheless I understand the frustration as in the second half I shared it to an extent, partly because of how poor Accrington were. There are some very poor teams in this division.
Sounds like game was over 20 minutes in & they play again Tuesday.. People are fond of saying how light the squad is, so why stretch it if we don’t need to..?
It's supposed to be, but it isn't really is it? It's a results business. If it was strictly entertainment, there'd be no sackings after 4 games and matches would finish 5-5. There was nothing boring at all about the first half, second half, if that's boring, i'll take boring all day long.
Happy, when we're moaning, We're only happy when we're moaning, Happy, when we're moaning, We're only happy when we're moaning... or summat like that
