The bookies have us as slight favourites in our first visit to Exeter for 42 years. Glyn Riley scored the only goal amidst a 20 game unbeaten run in the 80/81 promotion season. Exeter's return to the third tier for the first time since 2012 has gone reasonably well so far. Despite a brief flirtation with the top 6 earlier in the season, they currently sit 12th, 8 points behind us having played 2 more games. Coincidentally, they have the 12th best home record, and 12th best away record. You could say they're the average league 1 team. Since Matt Taylor left for Rotherham in October, Exeter have been inconsistent. Of late they have had a tendency to draw. Their defeat to Portsmouth on Saturday ended a run of 1 defeat in 8 games, albeit 5 of those were stalemates. At home, they're winless in 4, but have drawn their last 3, including a 1-1 draw with Wednesday, who equalised in the last minute. I fancy us to edge this one. We're due a big away win, and I think this could get our season back on track. I'm going 1-2 with Watters & Connell on the score sheet.
Met office says 7C at 3pm falling to 0C by 10pm. If the pitch isn't already frozen, the match should go ahead, particularly if the sun is on it. 2-1 to the Reds or P-P...
Yeah, Along with Wycombe, I thought they were streets ahead of us. Another not so good feeling for me I’m afraid. 2-1 Exeter
