No one did. Not many thought he would score in league one. But then again some thought cauley was worth more than Ivan toney.

But he was a scapegoat when he left there was quite a few nasty comments like thank **** etc.. but then schmidt left one of the worst players ever to wear the shirt and got the opposite strange.

I'm not surprised, I thought he had great potential and was disappointed when we offloaded him.

We didn't, we offered a new contract which he refused.

But surely it says a lot that all of the different coaches we had, none gave him regular starts. They did see him on the training ground every day. And plus, when he did get his starts did you ever come away thinking “Victor deserves another start after that today”? I doubt it. He had some decent cameos and when Val first came, he looked to have a bit of confidence and it showed in his game. Apart from that, I’ve no idea how he managed to stay for as long and get as many appearances for us.

To be fair when he first signed he had kieffer Moore and cauley infront of him so he was always going to struggle for game time.
The other seasons he had some good runs off the bench and like you day he had a good spell under val and scored a few decent goals. His contract was due to expire and the club offered him a new one on the back of the decent spell under val. Under the 2 clowns he never really got a look in. It didn't really work out for him here and I think to move on was the best for both parties as to many of the fans he was a scapegoat and he would have never won some over. I did feel for him though always gave his best I remember Blackpool away under schopp when he was subbed and many were giving ironic cheers when woodrow and freiser who were upfront with him that day were just as bad if not worse than him.

I don't think we offered a very good contract. It would have been at least what he was already on, but I don't think that was a particularly lucrative contract either.

However, I would imagine, after the limited opportunities he got here, it would have taken a very lucrative contract for him to stay. He wanted to play football. He is doing and he's playing well. He made the right decision.

When it was announced at the time that we’d offered him a contract I put on here that in my opinion it would be best for both sides to part ways. It definitely looks the case for Victor as he’s had a decent half season for Burton and it could potentially result in a move for him.

I’ll wish him well in the future, as I do with most players that have represented us, but he certainly had more than his fair share of chances with us, in my opinion.

Wasn’t good enough to play regularly in the Championship not convinced he will be now either. He would have been a good option in L1 and for that I was sad to see him go but he had chances with us and didn’t take them.

I doubt the contract we offered him was a very good one plus he wanted to play football and a fresh start no doubt. Although the club could have got shut a year before but offered him a new year deal based on his improved for under val which he accepted.

Seemed a good lad and a honest pro but don’t think he’ll score many goals above league 1 and his overall game isn’t championship standard but might be a chance for him to make a bit of dosh so good luck to him.

Funnily enough I just had a look how some of the others from last season are getting on.

Dominik freiser has played 12 games in the Austrian bundasliga 0 goals 2 assists

Patrick schmidt played 12 games in Austrias 2nd division scored 4 goals.

I've scored goals in Austria's second division. Went hiking in the Alps, wandered through a village where a game was taking place. Away side only had 10 players, so I played the second half and bagged a hat-trick.

He's probably getting paid £1.5 -2 grand a week at Burton which is decent money for a average footballer. Good look to the lad .

Haha class... I was going to say I doubt the Austrian 2nd tier is upto much although schmidt has possibly found his level.

The thing is, if you played a match with him he would be absolutely brilliant I reckon.

I would have thought he’d be on more than that wouldn’t he ?
I’m far from knowledgeable in that subject however.

I think average L1 salary is meant to be around £100k mark, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he was in the £1.5 - 2k mark. guessing if he goes to wiggum, they'll double that and worry about it later
