Really good that documentary. So is his latest book about his addictions and the millions he lost gambling. His wife having full control of his money and giving him pocket money to lower temptation. What a sad way to live. Glad he's still on Sky Sports and his Daily Star column on a Saturday is good.

I understand what you're saying, but that's love & trust. The most important things!

I like to think he’s come through his demons. That half hour show showed him where he needs to be. It was always the same for London/Home Counties born/based footballers.
In older times, Jimmy Greaves, Stan Bowles etc. people can mention many more. Weaknesses for birds, booze & bookies..
Gazza’s problems started at Spurs, not Newcastle. & Tony Adams.?

I haven’t read Tony Adams book (of course) but a Gooner mate told me Adams said his best moment in football was when Oakwell were chanting Champions to Arsenal as they did us 2-0 at Oakwell, topping Man U & all but relegating us..
Back when we had respectful fans..

Saw Higgy at wombwell cc. Tells some cracking stories. My favourite was the Bryan Robson/John Hendrie drinking competition. Whilst at Middlesbrough.

Hignett came as a guest speaker to a BFCST Q&A meeting when they were at Ardsley House. He was hilarious with typical scouse humour. I should imagine he'll be more interesting than Merson whose story we all know.
