Yorks player Matt Fisher has got 5 wickets and a quick fifty in Lions game v Sri Lanka.
I think he’s the only one of ours on tour which is a bit surprising.
I’ve only just found out that Root is currently playing in Dubai which again is a bit surprising.

Root had been playing for Dubai Capitals but left a while ago to rest for New Zealand. He'd had a couple of good knocks. Yorkshire got relegated so it doesn't surprise me only one got picked for the Lions tour.

The womens T20 World Cup in South Afrifa starts a week on Friday. The hosts have dropped their captain of all formats for fitness issues. All players were expected to run 2km in nine and a half minutes. She did a PB but was still 17 seconds too slow. Crazy to dump someone because they can't run fast. Imagine Pakistan not playing Inzaman because he wasn't pacey.

Yeah Lyth left Perth Scorchers early to play for them, but was rubbish in his few BBL games anyway. Sydney Sixers who finished clear second to Perth Scorchers are home to Brisbane Heat tomorrow. Heat are in a rich vein of form but that's because they had their three test players back (Usman, Renshaw, Marnus) who all contributed really well. They are all in India now so it's a blow for Brisbane. The final on Saturday should be Sixers away in Perth like they were last Saturday in front of 50k in Optus Stadium.

Just out of interest DB, I did a bit of checking about the Lions tour players being from which division and it’s fairly level.
7 out of 16 will play in second div this year and there are 2 more teams in top division.
I’m likely to have made an error but it’s close either way.

That is a seriously good innings from Dawid Malan.

 

We were not many for 3 when I switched off. Guess I should stick with BBC updates for the rest of the innings...

 

Malan is great in every format. He's so underrated because he scores slower than others, even though many times he gets more runs than them. He really helped his captain out. It wasn't looking at upwards of 350 at theee down.

 

To be fair to KP he’s done a good impartial job with his commentary.
