https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/...0-world-cup-2023-sune-luus-to-captain-1356690 It's bonkers. She is one of their best players after Laura Wolfvardt who's one of the best in the world. Running fast shouldn't come in to it. Loads of quality players through the years wouldn't have played with a rule like that.
Seems rather discriminatory to me. Doubt Freddie would have passed too many cardio fitness tests (I could be wrong), but the rest is history.
No Sky got shut for his comment about Rafiq and I think he's done radio commentary for TalkSport. David Gower is over there too. Sky had him on T20s and now he's never away from them. He goes to Pakistan for the PSL and is now doing this.
Are you sure that Sky got shut as you say ? I bow to your knowledge but I thought he’d decided to pack in on his own volition
I think he was allowed to save face by saying he was retiring, which clearly wasn't the case. Saturday breakfast the Big Bash final is on Sky Cricket with Perth Scorchers home to Brisbane Heat who today shocked the Sixers in Sydney. It didn't affect them missing their three test players, but they won't win in front of 50,000 fans at the Optus Stadium.
What do you reckon to the standard of the BBL? I’ve been disappointed in genera felt more like the T20 Blast than the IPL. Think they’re missing the overseas players who seem to be in Dubai/SA at the minute.
The standard isn't as strong as previous years due to the other two (or three if you include Bangladesh) happening all at the same time. 150 seems around par. Very few games getting around the 200 mark. It's my favourite of those being played though. They get good crowds (unlike the empty UAE venues) and it's a chance to watch good players you're less aware of rather than guys like Andre Russell in yet another t20 tournament. Australia have loads of good players who if they were any other nationality would be playing international Cricket. The final tomorrow breakfast I just hope Heat put up a fight.
AyeI agree with what you say. Don’t think the pitches have been the greatest from what I’ve seen which doesn’t help the high scoring games.
I would agree about the pitches. I could name loads of names from the BB that aren't known or hardly known over here that I would love for Yorkshire to sign. Scorchers win tomorrow is more than 1/2 at the bookies, but should happen. Just seen the start Paarl Royals have had in South Africa. 70 for 1 after the Powerplay. Super King's managed to get Jos out but Jason Roy thinks he's Christopher Henry Gayle in his pomp.
It’s a helluva stadium at Perth. Seems a bit unfair for Brisbane fans as it is a 6 hour flight but the team are doing quite well, so far.
Every away game is a huge flight for Perth on the west coast on their own. That's one of the things that makes them so good that travel doesn't seem to affect them. Good game this with Heat fighting well.
Great game that. Right down to the wire. Heat can be proud of themselves. Scorchers managed to keep Neser quiet who's had a great tournament.
Crawley useless with the bat than drops an easy catch from Conway. Brook brilliant as usual to put us in a position to declare to bowl under the lights. Poor LBW by the usually reliable Dar which thankfully got reviewed.
