Gary is oot. Only served 8 years of a 16 years sentence. A fair age now but possibly still a very dangerous b’stard.
Age has never concerned him before and he might be the cure for your piles that you have been looking for.
Paul Gadd, nasty horrible *******, not one for violence unless i'm punched on the nose, but this, and every other pedo, deserve to die an horrible death, just my opinion.
Yet another example of all that is wrong with our judicial system. Some of his victims were as young as 10 years old and yet he only got a 16 year sentence. Now he’s out after half of that time. Scum like that should be locked up somewhere very unpleasant for the rest of their life. No telly, no computers, nothing to make them comfortable. The whole system stinks.
It does seem that his sentence didn't fit the crimes and further that the probation service hasn't compensated by refusing parole. I just hope that he is policed carefully and banged up again for the slightest deviation from the terms of his release.
How do Glam Rock fans on the BBS feel about him? Plenty of you would have been a fan and loved his Music. Can you separate the man from the music or can you not bring yourself to listening to his songs any more? I used to enjoy Chris Benoit Wrestling. He had zero personality or mic skills but could have a five star match with anyone, which was the important thing. But after killing his wife and son before killing himself, I haven't watched back any or his old matches.
The bloke is a pedo that is how he is viewed. Same with Rolf Harris. Anything before matters not a jot. Nobody wants to be in his gang and yes we can tell what is is.
Could never stand Gary Glitter or the Glitter Band although I did see them (without Gary) at a freshers night at Newcastle Poly in 1977. I don't think it would have any bearing on how I feel now either way. He's an evil b'stard end of story.
As a BBS Snowflake I'm frankly a bit disappointed. I always thought his music was ****. Not sure how old he is, but hopefully he has a terminal prognosis.
Not Gary Glitter but in a similar vein: I was a casual Lostprophets fan - owned a couple of their albums, liked a few of their songs ("Rooftops" was a banger) but I've not been able to listen to a note since that sick b*****d of a frontman was arrested and jailed
I’m all for rehabilitation of criminals, where that is possible, but this one puzzles me. Every time he has been released from prison, either here or overseas, he has shown no remorse and has gone on to reoffend. Due to the nature of this person’s crimes and the vulnerability of his victims, I would have thought it makes him a very good candidate for spending the rest of his days in prison. our entire legal system needs a shake up, as far as I am concerned. What Boris Becker did was wrong and he needed punishing, but prison? Did the British public feel any safer with him locked up? Of course not. We weren’t in danger before he was locked up. He committed financial crime, went bankrupt, went to jail for a few years. He’s now out, will find work again, because he’s very good at what he does and he has a large fan base, so I’m sure a book won’t be far off and soon he’ll be wealthy again. He didn’t need locking up, he needed to be put to work, to pay the taxman back. Proper community service is the best thing for this kind of crime, on minimum wage. Their lavish lifestyle ends and they do some good for the community. Prison is for violent criminals and criminals whose freedom puts the public at risk. Murder, assault, sex crimes, stalking, robbery, breaking and entering, possession of illegal weapons/dangerous animals, drug dealers, people traffickers, gangsters, hate crime, paedophiles, etc. And some of these people need longer sentences. You see people out of prison having done less time than Boris Becker who have stabbed people, which is ridiculous. And on that, a lot of these crimes, especially knife crimes, are carried out by young people. More needs doing to prevent this. I don’t just mean pulling the government up for allowing these kids to remain in an environment where they feel like they have no future, so turn to crime, I mean before that. Why are schools not given help by having people in to talk to kids about the dangers that could lay ahead. Bring in victims or families of victims of knife crime and gang related knife crime. Bring in rehabilitated ex-cons to talk to the kids. This can be extended to include recovering drug addicts, alcoholics, gambling addicts, victims of sex crimes, rehabilitated offenders, victims of racism or homophobia, rehabilitated convicted racists, and so on. When my daughter was at Penistone Grammar School Sir Ian McKellen visited to talk about the fight for LGBT rights. It made an impact upon her, and not just because a famous bloke was in school, but it made her reflect on things that she otherwise wouldn’t. The world is a much, much different place for school leavers now than it was in the 80s, and the world was confusing enough then. For a start, with pornography so easily available, many teenage boys have very wrong ideas about how they think women like to be treated. There just needs to be more preparation for kids before they are let loose into the adult world, cos in the absence of this they will be getting their guidance from their parents, TV and/or the internet, and sadly not all parents are the best role models.
I’m not sure about other schools but ours has a day called ‘Prison Me No Way’ for year 8s and they spend all day off timetable having talks from prisoners and police and do various workshops. It always has a big impact on them.
In the same boat. Rooftops and Last Train were proper songs that remind me of my youth - but they're impossible to listen to now, knowing what that horrible excuse for a human did.
Gary Glitter an his bird shopping in Blockbusters, Shall we get Alad in, sez Gary, Fook off sez his Girlfriend, your in enough trouble already.
