The bookies have us as overwhelming favourites to record our second double of the season, when we welcome Cambridge to Oakwell for the first time in 30 years.

Cambridge are really struggling at the minute. They've won just once (over 90 minutes) in their last 16 matches in all competitions. Away from home they've experienced just 1 win in 10 in all competitions (Wycombe), which includes heavy defeats at Hillsborough, the Greenhous Meadow, and a draw at Curzon Ashton in the Cup.

At Oakwell, we're unbeaten in our last 3 meetings with Cambridge, albeit these all took place between 1983 and 1993. In fact, in the 10 meetings at Oakwell, we've only been defeated once by Cambridge, a 3-2 defeat late in the 82/83 season.

Our home form now reads 6 wins from 7 in all competitions, with the Bolton debacle being the only blemish on that record. There doesn't appear to be any new injury concerns (as far as I'm aware) therefore we should be able to field a similar side to the one who gave Portsmouth a good game last week.

I fancy us to win this one, and if we score early again, as we often do at home, I can see it being comfortable. I'm going for 2-0 with Watters and Phillips on target.

Can't see anything other than a Barnsley win, which has taught me we will almost certainly lose.

I remember a game at the end of April at Oakwell against them (1980s), they had not won an away game all season... Result? We lost 2-0. So I'm going for 3-0 to the Reds.
    I'm daft like that.

It will be interesting to see an Ironside at Oakwell so many years after his grandad Roy kept goal for us.

Barnsley 5-0 Cambridge. Have to play this with arrogance. I reckon that's why we always come up short against the crap teams. We show them too much respect. No they're crap, get stuck in.

That'll be the one I mentioned above, though it says it finished 2-3 on the site I used. It was late April 83.

The return of Paul Digby and George Williams. Cambridge have strengthened their defence with experienced free/free agent signings Morrison and Bennett recently leading to two creditable draws in their last two. However, I just think we're finally due a game where our finishing is above cow's jacksie with a banjo standard and have a feeling this might be the one.
