For me it would have to be 96/97 season v Man City,Xmas time. Before the new north stand was built. It was pis$ing it down and we'd knocked out a few thousand of those see thru £1 pack a macks to the travelling hordes, nice little earner.

City were crap at the time and as we went
2-0 up in the pouring rain,a sudden movement and chanting could be discerned in the away end. The City fans were doing a conga, getting absolutely soaked and singing to a man (and woman) 'I'd rather be in Barnsley than Barbados' in a scathing reference to their much derided chairman at the time, Franny Lee,who was sunning himself in the Bahamas.

Cue much mirth and merriment in the East Stand

    Happy Days

Don’t know about best chant but loudest with most variety of songs was Man Utd I believe we lost 2-0 and was when they smashed the North kiosk, the Barnsley fans ( 2 of ) scored the goal by running on and Utd played in a black and blue kit ( diagonal stipe/Sash).

I know it says at oakwell but , one of the funniest I've heard was.. Peterborough away.... Your dad's a cxxt and so are you...aimed at Darron Ferguson ..it went on for almost 20 minutes even the home fans joined in ...whilst not very pleasant it was dare I say very funny ...you had to be there
Another was away at bramell Lane ...the usual dee dar dee dar chant started and finished just as quick followed by a moments silence ...in that moments silence one of the emergency vehicles went by with its siren on dee dar dee dar which caused a lot of merriment lol

During the 96/97 season when we played WBA at home. There were about 10 games left, it was looking like us v Wolves for automatic promotion and WBA were sat firmly in mid table with no hope of going up but no need to look over their shoulders.

We beat them 2-0 and I think they were happier with the result than we were - conga lines and choruses of "you're going up"

Us at Bramall Lane, the game where we drew and confirmed their relegation. Daniel Bogdanovitch walked passed the away end to the chants of Daniel Leagueoneavich

I remember Blackpool away and giving it to Tom.ince your dad's a lovely person and so are you... Next thing he gets ball and bangs it in bottom corner first thing he does is run towards the away end with his finger over his mouth. Luckily we ended up winning 2-1

    that whole day was amazing.

greasy chip butty song with revised lyrics was genius:

You fill up my senses like a league game at Yeovil, Like the Johnstone's Paint trophy, in an empty old Lane, Like the Steel City derby In the old third division, Oh Sheffield United, You ****** up again

"Feed the dingles let them know its Xmas time" sang by them at s6 who don't care about us... I know I shouldn't find it funny but it is...

Or at Elland road this season Barnsley singing to leeds end "town full of peados" again shouldn't laugh but.

Funniest I remember was away at Southampton in the Premier League. We decided to ‘taunt’ their fans and Matthew Le Tissier, with a rendition of “He’ll never play for England”. Southampton immediately responded with “He’ll never play for Barnsley”. Brilliant!
