he probably won't be thinking that right now, though. he's been tested twice outside luton and failed miserably. that said, it was a mad appointment. those who gave him the job probably have to hold their hands up.
yeah, managers have ambitions and egos. most of them are the same players that used to have ambitions and egos. money will always come into it, but mostly I reckon it comes down to managers backing themselves at the highest level. wonder if luton will come calling a 3rd time, at any point?
I don't think 14 games is anywhere near a fair test. Having said that, it probably comes as no surprise to him.
Certainly was very capable of backing himself. Recently gave an interview where he claimed that whilst at Luton they were getting some of the best results in Europe and he was one of the top coaches.
I do. 14 games of asbaghi and schopp was more than enough to see they were both completely out of their depth. and our expectations are nothing like what they are in PL. he was a dead man walking
His press conference yesterday was funny - he said that Wolves going down to 10 men made it harder for Southampton, who were 1 up at the time...
Wolves had comprehensively beaten Liverpool the week before. I wasn't expecting them to win necessarily.
Luton doing pretty well without him. Never seems to do Peterborough much good when they keep going back for Darren Ferguson for the 14th time. Luton should leave him in the past.
Just an if, buts and maybe sort of question but should MD get head hunted during the summer how would you feel about having Jones as our next manager? Personally I’ve never liked the guy but I must admit he’s got a wealth of experience at our level and been successful. On balance I think I’d go for him. We could do a lot worse.
