The gift that keeps giving. Joey Barton caught on live Radio offering out an U21 Player after the game between Lincoln and Bristol. Tensions eventually boiled over after the full time whistle, and during BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s post-game interview with 21-year-old Lincoln debutant Ethan Erhahon, a stray voice could be heard in the background of the live recording. It was Joey Barton, as the 40-year-old Rovers manager said he would “absolutely finish” the Imps player, presumably in a fight. No, seriously.
Apparently the uncensored video version is on Twatter. The mind boggles as to how he seems to fall from one job into another.
I'd be interested to get the real thoughts of Bobby and luke regarding this nutter. Rather than a diplomatic one.
He's a narcistic so and so, probably on a good day nice as pie bigging them up, but we've read his comments about Luke's mental health and they weren't exactly supportive. If it was fans threatening violence against opposition players they'd be banned from attending football ( and rightly so) so what's going to happen to him?
He’s managed to get another Lincoln player a 3 match ban after tweeting a video showing the Lincoln player elbowing a Rovers player in the face!!
One day he'll pick on a Billy Whitehirst type & he'll have the the ever loving ***** kicked out of him. Edit: Fingers crossed.
I've mentioned on here previously...about the time Billy Whitehurst almost got the sh. 1t kicked out of me by at least 3 or 4 of the Leeds united team, whilst I was in the Hull City players lounge after the game ....prior to the game Billy, had forgot to leave our tickets in the box office , which he did on regular occasions....being all ticket, I had words with the police chief inspector who kindly took us into the ground to where we normally stood...Billy once he saw us realised what he'd done and came over and sat on the wall talking to us before kick off...he bet me a tenner he would score in the first half which might I add he didn't...just before the start of the second half, he came back over and sat on the wall, talking to us again and asked me,if I wanted double or quits against him scorind in the second half....I refused his bet, jokingly adding, the way you are playing you couldn't score in a brothel.....so not to be out done he quickly turned around and said, OK then, a tenner says I can black Chris faircloughs eye ...tenner you won't never mind can't I jokingly replied....less then 5mins after the second half kicks off, Billy backs into Chris leading with his elbow, picks up a booking whilst Chris, rolls on the ground clutching his face....Billy then casually trots over and says guess we are evens now, tenner says I can score before game is over lol... Fast forward to the end of the game, I'm stood talking with Eddie Gray the Hull City manager at the top of the tunnel when Howard Wilkinson the Leeds manager comes over to join us...thinking I'm a journalist, as I stood there in my collar tie and suit, he starts to ask my opinion of the game. After about 2/3 minutes he says come on we will join the others and I'll give you all my thoughts on the game....pointing out I wasn't a journalist, rather one of Billy's mates and the licensee of his local, he apologised for his mistake and said, ýonce I've finished come and join me upstairs for a drink, which I did ...As my new mate Howard lol and myself approached the stairs Billy comes down with his player of the game award, weir tha guin he asks...up stairs with Howard, atha cumin weirus I replied....No says Billy, but don't be long, I've got a surprise waiting for you in the players lounge.....two Gin and tonics 25/30 minutes later, I bid fair well to my new mate Howard, to make my way down stairs wondering what Billy had in store for me...with an extended offer to be Howard's guest later in the season at Elland Road.... I walk into the players lounge ...over in the far corner away from the door, sat with the 2 lads I'd gone with, is Billy, pint in hand...most of the Leeds team are stood against the bar with a fair few Hull players stood chatting with them..Chris fairclough is stood adjacent to them, his eye almost closed due to the swelling and no doubt, ever so painful has it looked '....upon seeing me the Hull lads greet me with the heyup look who's here, whilst the Leeds lads give me a silent stare.....Billy starts to sip his pint stops mid sip and casually announces ' hey Chris that's the Barnsley 2hat that bet me a tenner I couldn't black your eye.... A shout went up from at least 4 Leeds players, who made a grab for me and if it hadn't been for beresford the city goal keeper jumping in front of me shouting he's kidding he's just kidding and pushing them away, they'd have lynched me lol Billy just sat there and kept saying am not am not honest am not.....whilst wearing a grin as big as the Cheshire cats on his face... Whilst it all calmed down as quickly as it started, I felt it best in my interest, not to take Howard up on his thoughtful offer lol
Unfortunately it’s unlikely. He’s a boxing nut. Years back when he was at City I remember seeing videos of him training with the Hatton brothers & he could’ve passed as a pro. Like you though I do hope he gets his comeuppance one day.
Pro or no pro...In my opinion and no doubt many others who knew or know Billy, Billy in his prime wouldn't have broken sweat whilst dealing with the likes of Barton...even hardened bare knuckled Gypsie fighters gave Billy respect by staying well clear of him
