Seen on twitter there’s a football page asking for your best goalkeeper and best centre backs you saw play for tarn. Got to be before 2009.

I’d go Gary Pierce for GK
    Futcher and McCarthy for CB

Plenty to choose from but these are my choices.

If it’s the best I’ll go for Muller and McCarthy, if it’s my favourite I’ll go for Baker and Futcher

Baker has been the best 'keeper in my time although Bobby Horn was excellent as was Luke Steel. In fact we've had several excellent keepers over the years.
Centre back is more difficult, hard to get a cig paper between Futcher and McCarthy but I'd have to go for Futch purely for his calm assurance and positioning. Mind you his goal scoring record leaves a lot to be desired even for a CB, I'm fairly sure he never scored for the Reds but slotted one or two for the opposition (I remember him expertly lobbing it over Baker from about 40 yards against West Brom if memory serves). McCarthy on the other hand score quite a few with headers from set pieces.

Wiki confirms Futcher's zero goals in 230 matches. To be fair, he didn't really go up for corners etc, preferring to stay on the halfway line. Wiki says McCarthy got 7 goals in 272 games so hardly prolific either.

Recall Futch went close Vs Everton at Oakwell in FA cup. Big Nev tipped a long range shot over the bar.

Aye, but it was 30 yard daisy cutter that Nev tipped round the post as I recall.

I love and hate posts like this, always feel guilty leaving certain players out - we've had some real quality over the years, sadly not all at the same time often enough.

    Baker.
    Futcher, McCarthy.

(With apologies to Muller, Watson, Horn, May, Taggart, Evans, Tiler, De Zeeuw, Mawson, Davis etc)

    Heinz Muller
Then Arjan De Zeeuw and probably Paul Futcher
But notable mentions for Alfie Mawson, Ethan Pinnock and Janni Salli who until injury looked class

You’re right, it was over the bar. But you’re all wrong, in that Futcher did once score for us. He just wasn’t playing for us at the time! He scored an own goal in a 1-1 draw against Oldham, a year or two before we signed him.

Has to be Müller for me in goal.
Macca and Futch. But lots of close runners.
