Like many others I subscibe to, but am not a fan of, I Follow. I have an annual subscription but I can't access the post match video interviews with MD or the players. It's been like this for weeks now. I've emailed them and its like talking to a brick wall trying to get a resolution. Anyone had similar issues or had simailar issues and got them fixed and how? Cheers.
Sorry I wasn't being serious. No idea how to help you unfortunately but whitey might know if you message him.
Pre-match press is free to view for those with a registered account, because the bulk of it is available on BBC Sheffield for free. Post-match press is behind the paywall because it's exclusive, it's extra content. As is the alternative angle video of games. And any other exclusive interview, training footage and so on. The highlights are still free. It's basically (start of the year) gone back to pre-COVID times, in terms of it being - still - £4.49 per month for the exclusive stuff and audio commentary. I think it's value for money (and we'll keep piling more content on there) and it helps to fund our department. Had we not suffered as we did last year, we'd drawn up plans to move away from the EFL Digital setup (thus, iFollow) and go our own way. But there's a huge financial outlay initially that the club couldn't swallow with relegation etc. If the OP is paying £4.49 per month or the annual sub, and not getting the exclusive content, then definitely contact ifollow@efl.com because that's an issue. I'm out for the afternoon so apologies if I don't get back to any further questions!
Yesterday's iFollow video stream was great following last week's debacle. It only buffered a couple of times in the entire match for me and probably at my end not theirs. Fair do's.
I've got the annual subscription as an overseas user. I can access all content. The live streaming is mostly OK, with the odd glitch. Last week with no video coverage being an anomaly. One thing I have noticed with additional content is that I sometimes find I've been logged out and cannot access the content, but that's easy to correct. On rare occasions, I have encountered videos which state I cannot access them without a subscription., This is usually a temporary glitch and the videos are accessible within a day.
Really appreciate your response Whitey - particularly as it's the weekend. Thanks for the clarification. I do pay the annual sub and have done for years; that's why I cant understand not being able to access the post match interviews. Ill keep trying to sort it out through ifollow@efl.com but to date I've had no success in getting them to resolve it.
I'd implore you to keep trying. Feel free to tag media@barnsleyfc.co.uk in any of your correspondence. There's no reason - if you're a subscriber - that you shouldn't be able to access every piece of content on there. I wish I could fix this personally, it's one of the reasons we wanted to go solo with our own website and VOD service, but we are where we are, sadly. For now anyway. There's a training video from Feb 13 I think, and a huge hour-long interview with Mads Andersen mid-January. Can you watch them? They're behind the paywall. Just wondering if it's a post-match press issue. Because if it is, and they can't fix it I'll make sure they are moved to free-to-view moving forward. Let me know.
Thanks again. Understand the reasons why you guys cant go solo - such a pity as I'm sure the service would improve. I can't access the training video from 13/02, nor the Mads interview from mid January. I've also just looked back at the all videos and it looks like the problem started around 8th January. Before that date I was able to access everything. I've emailed them again today and I will keep trying until its fixed. I'll also copy you guys in as suggested. No need for you to reply - its the weekend. Your efforts are really appreciated. UTR.
Whitey It's my mistake! Sorry - just checked back through bank records and thought I'd renewed but hadn't. As the kids say these day, "My bad". Profuse apologies.
I thankfully had no problem on Saturday. Has been a mega weekend with work. 6 hour gig in Manchester's Northern Quarter on Saturday night. (2 am finish, then a drive back to Headingley). 6 Hours at a wedding fair at Northorpe Hall, Mirfield today. 4 hours sleep last night. I'm not getting any younger. A 4-0 away win before all that really helped! Looking forward to Derby at home on Saturday. My brother's birthday, so hopefully another great day & no DJ commitments! More thanks to @YTBFC . A credit to our club.
