Wonder how much he, Oulare & Iseka cost. Including their signing on fees, agent fees, etc etc...

Transfer fees paid over the twelve months to May 2022 makes interesting reading.

Total transfer fees paid were just £1.24m. That would, I think, cover Josh Benson, Leya-Iseka and Oulare.

On Director remuneration, that totalled £392k a fall from £423k the prior year. The highest paid Director received a package of £174k with a further two directors bring remunerated within that total.

I'd like to think that we got some decent money in for Woodrow and Morris to claw a bit of the losses back. Suppose we'll find out next year.

I’d like to think Helik commanded a seven figure sum too.

Completely forgot about him. Realistically, the 7 million loss should have been covered by those 3 players.

Would we have had 3 different people acting as CEO during the period covered?

The transfer fees paid is probably a bit lower than I was expecting, but still high, given the number of clubs that were still paying fees at the time.

Did we get any fees in?

I don't think we got anywhere near £7m.

The fee for Morris has been quoted as £2m which would be their record fee if correct. Therefore Woodrow went for less. Even if we generously assume it was £1.5m that only gets us to £3.5m.

I have a workmate who supports Huddersfield. He's adamant that Helik signed for next to nowt but if they avoid relegation clauses kick in taking the fee to £1.5m

Aside from Morris this is all speculation but tops out at £5m IF Huddersfield avoid the drop. Personally, I'd be surprised if the total we received was any greater than £4m unfortunately.

Seeing as Helik was still under contract and we needed quick liquidity so were selling at below market value anyway, I would have thought it very unlikely we'd have agreed to such a deal.

I'm not 100% convinced by what he says, I'd imagine we wanted an upfront fee of some sort. Maybe getting the wages off the accounts were a factor too

I'm sure that wages were a big factor, but surely not enough for us to just give away a full international centre back who was still under contract. I'm still guessing that they got a very good deal, but probably more likely to be something like a million up front, and another million if they stay up (I'm completely speculating here).

Is that saying that the crynes were paid what they were owed out of club funds? If so, it is absolutely criminal that that is allowed. If a consortium wants to buy a club, it should do so out of its own pocket(s).

If I've read that wrong, ignore me.

How much did we get for Britain from Blackburn...wasn't that another out going for a decent fee? I suppose with payments, mostly paid in installments its difficult to tell.

The Crynes haven't been paid yet but it is saying that they will be paid from club funds. A liability (ie a debt to them) has been recognised in the these accounts and will start to be paid off from August 2023.

It's a clear indication of the vast sums we must be losing in League 1 if, after activating relegation wage reduction clauses, getting some of the bigger earners off the books and receiving transfer payments for Morris, Helik, Woodrow, Brittain etc, the owners have still had to put another £5.6m in and are talking about needing to put in more to get through the season.

This link is for Keiran Maguire for those with Twitter shows what a mess having Conway 'in charge' has left us with.

Even with a wage bill of £12m compared to the Championship average of £32m.
Also shows how important player sales are to the running of the club

    Quite standard in business though.
Glazers did it with Man U is probably one of the more well known.

At Championship level that's a bottom 4/5 budget.

Didn't the Glazers take out a loan against the club to buy it?
