He's brilliant, very old school. Bazball is great but there is still a place in test Cricket for the Asian Boycott. It's like if Cook was still playing, he was slow but would still have a place in the current England team.

 

Not for me I’m afraid.. he’s quite capable of playing good shots but sometimes gets defensive when the occasion doesn’t merit it.

 

The slowest scorer I remember was Chris Tavaré from 40/50 yrs ago.
Boycott’s test scoring rate was higher than Cook and Pujara and not amazingly much below Roots rate.
Boycott just hated getting out but he had all the shots in his locker and actually played in several One dayers.
His 246 which led to him being dropped was scored at about 42% (if I remember right) which is not right bad is it ?

The first ever womens IPL starts today at 2 pm on Sky Sports with Gujarat Giants against Mumbai Indians in a match that bookies have as close to call. Gujarat have the Aussie captain Beth Mooney, her team mate Ashleigh Gardner and our own Sophia Dunkley. Mumbai I would probably give the edge to. They have Nat Sciver, Amelia Kerr of New Zealand, Heather Graham who's great but can't get in the Aussie side but plays for Northern Supercharges in the Hundred, Chloe Tyron who just had a good World Cup for South Africa and Harmanpreet Kaur who got an half century when India lost to Australia the other week in the WC semi final.
