It's just about minimising risk though isn't it that the corner you mention isn't sold? Especially due to the EFL warnings we have had for fan behaviour of late. It's not as though there aren't enough seats (usually)
The club have always said they can open up other areas of the stadium when needs must.

I don't think they can. They haven't kept the other side of it up to spec. Otherwise could have shoved all Pompey fans in there and given us all north stand

I haven't had a go at the stand being shut on safety grounds, so you should read it again. My point is if you live in the area and/or don't have plans tomorrow you can pop down to get a good seat, go home and then pop back for the game.

If you don't live in the area and/or have plans you pop down much earlier than usual in freezing conditions to pick up scraps of what is left. All fans inconvenienced should have had the same chance to sort somewhere else. @troff put it well.

I think it will probably work out that way anyway. I imagine many people won't be able to get there throughout the day. but obviously the club want to try and minimise the amount of queueing at turnstiles. it's a completely unforeseen event. roll with it.

Thanks both, as the club's statement doesn't say either way.

I think there's a possibility that people could miss kick-off, if everyone turns up at the usual time. I absolutely get why the club are encouraging people to get their tickets early if at all possible. obviously loads won't be able to, for one reason or another. but surely the more people that can get their tickets sorted early, the easier it's going to be for those that can't?

If you don't look after your house, it starts to fall apart. How many years have the Crynes and BMBC neglected the facilities? Is anyone really surprised that there are issues?

To be fair, it’s a great opportunity for the fans and club alike to see how well the North Stand works for segregation. It’s a great view from there too.

These things happen - the biggest issue for the club will be the lost hospitality revenue. General spectators can be easily accommodated elsewhere.

I’m regards the West Stand comments - the north side of it no longer has toilet facilities, these were removed when the media centre was built on them.

It can be reopened if demand long term is there (ie playing in Prem), as facilities and infrastructure can be brought back. Just currently no need for it.

It's these knee-jerk snarky comments to nearly everything the club puts out that I'm talking about. And at a time when they're probably up against it in ticketing at present anyway - not to mention the emotional toll the current situation will be having - I think you could be a bit more conscientious and think things through before posting. The club isn't trying to make life more difficult for its supporters. I'd argue the opposite is true. There's an employee on here who goes above and beyond. Let's cut them some slack.

This has all happened in the last 12 hours. It isn't Liverpool FA Cup tickets, Colchester stubs, or anything else.

It's everyone from the football club, the council, the EFL, South Yorkshire Police, and the company responsible for the stewards, going in to crisis mode on something nobody thought possible when they woke up this morning.

Will it suit everyone? Of course not. It won't suit anyone affected being brutally honest. What solution would have? I can't imagine thinking of one given the full week, nevermind 6-8 hours.

makes you wonder how this will play out. the state of the stadium just gets increasingly worse, with all parties appearing to be saying 'well I'm not paying for it'

Years back (26)sat in North stand when it was split at rear where food was there was a metal hinged high metal gate and turnstiles on corner between East stand and North stand .Funily enough, the game was against Portsmouth .

Abit of loose cladding can't be that hard to secure can it?

It can if you want all safety certificates fully approved before 5,000 supporters walk in. There also might have been further issues beyond just the cladding that requires more than a quick fix within 24 hours.

I hear you though. Bit of superglue and elbow grease should have sorted it.

guessing it was probably just a timing thing. imagine there will be cut-offs for getting things fixed, with them having to come back to sign off work etc.

Just as well playing team who not going to be bringing 2 or 3000 away fans that would been interesting woujd the club maybe have looked at postponement
