Keep the under soil heating switched off and the forecast sub-zero temperatures should do the trick.

Repairing the roof from below requires a cherry picker driving and stationed on the pitch. Whilst the pitch can be protected somewhat, to have the chance of the pitch sinking a bit hours before kick-off is a no-go. The game would be called off by the ref.

And that’s presuming they can get a the equipment, materials and contractors at such short notice.

And yes, they may take the opportunity to assess the rest too - although that can be done by drone to an extent.

Any more details on the practicalities of changing tickets? Eg - One of our group can get to Oakwell during the day and pick up replacement tickets but can't bring all of the group's individual season tickets as we're scattered all over Yorkshire - will names and membership numbers etc suffice?

I guess only the box office will be able to confirm.

You can’t choose your seat regardless. Pot luck - go/don’t go/get a refund/ watch on telly.

i think that’s a reasonable choice in the circumstances.

Im really gutted if its closed for Plymouth my neighbour here in Wales is a director for a company as he lives in london mostly and has invited me to corparate day with tour, meal and match with extra on saturday. I dont have to pay a bean, ive never been in hospitality in 42 years of watching reds and i am so happy to have had this opportunity.

Very worried hospitality on saturday may be affected now. Wat are the odds in all the years ive been going and its closed.

Might be a bit frustrating, but if a piece of sheet metal tore off in the wind and decapitated someone we'd all be horrified that the club allowed the stand to open. It's the only decision to close it.

True. No idea how big a job cladding repair is. Hopefully they sort it soon.

Get a bit of double sided sticky tape out, 2 min job and good as new. For usage instructions see back episodes of blue peter from 1980's.

As for safety certs, dust off Barry's old fax machine.

    Problem solved.

Half 10 is a bit late to be checking the stand.

Why wasn't this communicated immediately to allow folk to maybe switch seats yesterday afternoon?

Regardless of the rights and wrongs of the decision to close it, once again the takeover and subsequent mess about who owns the ground and responsibility for its upkeep have bitten us in the @ss. Tinpot is the only word to use. Imagine your main stand having to be shut because of a lack of upkeep? Let’s face it it’s the 2nd oldest stand and past it’s sell by date, we need a new, smaller, ground more then ever.

Well considering we had over 17,000 in for a 3rd tier fixture last week and we'll be very likely to exceed that against Sheff Weds and possibly Ipswich if results go our way, I'm not entirely sure how much smaller you'd want to go.

Of course closing is the right thing to do. Regular Maintenance would also be the right thing to do but we seem incapable of that.

Then everyone would be queuing round the car park and complaining about the delay.
    Can’t win springs to mind.

Will it be sorted by setdi? I'm guessing the North Stand will be pretty full with Plymouth supporters for that one.

If that's a possibility, the ground shouldn't be open at all.

If they are assuming it will be sorted for the Plymouth game, then hopefully it's not that tricky a repair. Given the weather forecast and the fact it's a school night I've a feeling a fair few will take the refund.
