Be reyt. Wrap up warm. I’m actually looking forward to the uniqueness of it. Obviously only as a one off like
A lot of comments on lack of maintenance probably misplaced really, I suspect it’s weather damage and wouldn’t be something you would check proactively given the fixings will be permanent, obviously bad timing after the West Debacle but this is out of the clubs control. They seem to be doing all they can, bearing in mind the swapping of tickets will be a mammoth task, all done with Beth being the rock she usually is. Also I seen comments about inspecting at 22:00 last night? I did d comment on one of the Newsbots about the East being unavailable on the ticket site around 16:00 so obviously known then, why the announcement came so late I don’t know, unless they were waiting to see if the weather would intervene and make it a none story.
I read that those using the Barry Murphy stand will access their turnstiles adjacent the East Stand via a walkway (I assume running from West to East). Does anybody know how those arriving on foot from the Monk Bretton / Dearne Valley Park will be able to get to the West Stand seeing as the East Stand carpark is out of bounds? Can they use the same walkway. Asking for a friend.
Someone in the box office. (a customer) reckoned work and/or equipment were put in place last night. Once completed there is also the structural survey / safety certificate to be completed. Be interesting if all that didn't get completed by friday. (which they are hopeful of btw) Given Plymouth are expected to bring a big following. I hope we give them more notice than Exeter gave us. If having to postpone. (Although the weather could be an obstacle for that game as well.)
According to my tickets. For the north stand. Use Turnstyles 56 to 62 only. Not sure where they are tbh.
When I got in the queue around 9:30 there were around a dozen in front of me. (5yds) I got talking to a mate in the queue 20 mins later. And it was probably 50/70yds @ 10:30 . But as you say good spirited. I think the weather helped. Quite a pleasant morning.
You probably cross the executive car park and hack your way through the undergrowth. Keep going until you get to where the canal used to be then double back heading for the corner of the BM stand. As soon as you see some cobweb covered red doors you’ll have found them
Is it true they've made a new hole in the fence down to Beevor Court . You then walk down Beevor Court and come back through the pedestrian gate and up the emergency access road to the corner of the North/East where you can access via the turnstyles. First to get there has to prize them open though. They are a bit stiff having not been used since 2001
Just checked using google street maps and 56 to 62 are the turnstiles in the corner next to the east stand, you should be able to get to them by walking around the back of the east stand
Initially yes. But this thread has been talking about ongoing maintenance. Not the initial capital upfront costs
Thought east stand car park was out of bounds. Access to those turnstiles is via a walkway but with no indication as to where the walkway starts. Edit Sorry, just read the initial statement again and it say access is via the east stand car park designated walkway 2nd edit Just read it again and can see why I was confused cos the 2nd para states "Therefore, the East Stand and the East Stand car park, will be closed to all personnel for this fixture, including East Stand hospitality".
I think they've edited it to include the walkway section as they're getting more information throughout the day
