It won't be in doubt. From around mid morning the map is showing no more snow. Roads will be clear and plenty of time to sort paths.
It is down to the referee & the council in terms of safety getting to the ground. I don't think the club have a say, unless I'm missing summat?
About 3 or 4 inches deep in town this morning and still coming down. Problem is its forecast temperatures of minus 5 tonight. Not a chance game will be on. Reckon it’ll get called later today.
Plenty of times to grit/shovel snow away with no more snow due to come down in a couple of hours. We already have a fixture backlog. We don't want to be going into the play offs tired from having to quickly catch up with games.
When all this snow melts we’ll be left with soddened roads paths car parks etc…….throw -5/6 into overnight and it’ll be like an ice rink
My gut feeling is that it will be off. I am in South Elmsall and its snowing here now. I don't know what Barnsley is like but my missus had to drive to Barnsley last night and said its worse than it is here. I know it is forecast to be over by lunchtime. But the unknown is how long it takes to clear and they are going to have to make a decision early because of the distance from Plymouth. I think it will be off, but by 3pm tomorrow it will be clear as a bell and we'll all be scratching our heads wondering why the game isn't on.
Just been out to measure the snowfall in my backyard as I'm a town centre resident and 3 or 4 inches seemed like a very conservative estimate. Results inconclusive as it's well above my 12 inch ruler. In related news, does anyone know where I can buy a new ruler, I've lost mine.
These people who are going to clear all the snow. What do they do for the other 364 days of the year? Do we keep them in a big shed?
Minus 5 or 6 is lovely and warm. I am jealous as in Huddersfield through the night it's showing as minus 8. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/gcw9pmvk3#?date=2023-03-11
Be interesting if the team bus does set off today. Given the Highways agency are always saying don't travel unless absolutely necessary.
