Appreciate I'm 50 miles south of the club and I know Barnsley was hit pretty badly last night, but judging by how quickly the not unsubstantial amount of snow has vanished here, I suspect most of it will have gone in Barnsley by tomorrow and it's not forecast to be icy/freezing so I can't see why it should be called off.
-6 are supposed to be tonight’s temperatures so i just can’t see any snow melting quickly enough for the game to be on plus it’s still snowing a bit now .
The decision to play or not tomorrow won`t be governed by whether we can fit in a rearrangement later in the season.
Just seen the snow on the pitch yesterday from the manager of the month pictures - don`t think there`s any chance for the weekend bearing in mind the snow overnight.
At 6 PM tonight the temperature is sub zero so I’d be amazed if this snow has all melted by then, it’s not fair on the fans traveling and we should know this from the Exeter experience
I’d call it off now -6/7 at 6am tomorrow , there will be some Plymouth fans coming up today , save them the hassle
None of it will have gone. It's still snowing quite heavily. The temperature is just above zero and will stay like that until 5pm when it drops below zero all the way down to -7. It won't get above zero again until lunch time tomorrow and only by a degree or two. All the snow will still be here plus plenty of ice. The match isn't happening.
I'm 2 miles out of town and it's still snowing here. I'll be amazed if the game goes ahead. In addition to the pitch, I imagine there will be some seating areas covered in it, plus walkways, etc. Then the area around the stadium, turnstiles, car park and whatnot. I'd suggest getting the ball boys out to clear it, but it'll take them a day or two to find the shovels.
Fair enough, I hadn't checked the forecast for a couple of days but if its accurate then I agree there's no chance it'll be on
I've got 12 inch but it doesn't get used much as a rule. EDIT. Apologies - just seen @shed131 got it in first (fnnarr)
Yeah nice and sunny and snow stopped. Suppose we can break this down: What can the club do within the confines of its properly especially the pitch to make it safe. Might end up being a wet but if can clear that’s good. What can council do in area surrounding ground to avoid any American style culture suing that’s taken over sadly. Just watch your footing and you my fall. I’ve got over at Palace for example one Christmas but laugh it off what reassurance and timescale does EFL want. Seems like it’ll happily wait considering Exeter.
I’m in Manvers and we’re low down compared to Tarn so appreciate it might not be the best barometer. But it’s melting like crazy here. Suns out, roads absolutely fine. You would think the Plymouth squad would be setting off any time if they haven’t already done so so surely an announcement or update must be imminent?
In North Wales and we had snow pretty badly overnight etc and despite it being covered this morning the majority on lower levels as already thawed and cleared despite it being white over at 8am this morning but I do appreciate we might not have had quite as much as in Barnsley.
